Great food options for a smallish bar. There is a chef there during week (Tues-Fri?) who offers handwritten menu of specials. We had the baked meatballs (delicious) and the Cajun shrimp scampi (added more heat). One of our favorite places for smaller group dinners!

Small bar with bench seating. Had a patty melt that was good and priced well. Fries were a little bigger than shoestring. I went for lunch and it wasn’t crowded. Seems like it could be quite tight on a weekend night.

We live nearby but had never visited MacKenzie Tavern until recently. Glad we did! The food is quite good, especially when Yamin is in the kitchen. Pasta dishes are always on point. Good gyro, too. Domestic beer prices are among the best I can find. I’ve seen some reviews that describe the place as “a bit of a dive.” And your point is? It’s nothing fancy but neither am I. Try it. You’ll like it.

The waitress was polite. The food was ‘Ok. My hubby did like the Rueben though. The rest was typical hole in the wall bar food. The food took forever and most of it should have been easy to fry quickly. The long island iced teas were good and at a good price. We would go back just for those…not the food. Lol
