The food here is great! The atmosphere isnt too loud and its a good spot for dinner or just a quick lunch. The prices aren’t bad either. The biggest detracting factor is the amount of time it takes to get your food or be told they are out of something.
My family and I consistently go here. And we usually wait around 60 minutes or so to get our food. If its a pizza, an order of lodge poles, or a combination of. The business of the resteraunt doesn’t seem to be a factor.
While the food is consistently awesome, we have, more than a few times now, gone in and ordered orlnly to be told fifteen or twenty minutes later they have run out of something. The Last time this happened we were the only diners eating there. It threw off all our meals as roughly half the table had to reorder their food.
I love this place and the chain, but this particular spot seems to have some trouble. The kalispell one and Spokane one operate great.

We ordered the Thai and beet salads, and a pizza that was half humble pie and half bbq chicken. EVERYTHING was superb. Like they take care in crafting a really great (better than just good) plate with only fresh ingredients. This my 5th day in town, and MacKenzie River served up my favorite meal during my stay.

We came on a Monday night. There were only a few other patrons dining, so we were seated right away. Sophie was our server, and she was amazing the whole dinner. She was very kind, bubbly, and attentive.
The food was hot and decent, but there was nothing to write home about. I would come back for the service.

The place was short-staffed. Took a very long time to get our drinks and food. We weren’t in a hurry so we were willing to wait and hangout.
The craft beers were good. We got a summer pale ale from Jeremiah Johnson and a driftboat. Hit the spot after a nice long hike.
The pizzas looked amazing but we’re a bit disappointing. This is subjective of course but for us it was very doughy and very thick. One of the pizzas we ordered came out undercooked (Mackenzie River Pizza). We didn’t order any of the salads but those looked amazing and if I were to dare come back, would probably stick to that and some beer.

We had a fantastic experience with MacKenzie River Pizza in Whitefish! Although it was too busy for us to dine in, we really appreciated the easy takeout option, which allowed us to enjoy their delicious food without the wait.
The brussel sprouts appetizer was absolutely incredible—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. And the “Stockman” pizza was everything we hoped for: hearty, rich, and packed with bold flavors. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put real care into every dish.
Even with how busy it was, the staff was friendly and efficient. We can’t wait to come back again—and hopefully dine in next time!

I’ve gone here a couple times and each time, the wait for the food is over an hour. Drinks take 20-30 minutes to get and it’s hard to find someone for refills. Appetizers came out about an hour after ordering. Our appetizers were nachos and a salad so not that hard. The nachos also weren’t hot. It was almost like they had sat for a bit which is weird.
The food itself tastes great! I’ve always had great experiences at the 2 MacKenzie River Pizza’s in Kalispell so I’d recommend going there over the one in whitefish.
