This is a great, neighborhood diner. The sweet potato fries are delicious. The French toast had crispy edges and was soft inside. It was perfect. The farmers omelette was large and delicious. Elizabeth was a great waitress. It’s definitely 5 stars for a diner. The hostess struggle with larger groups which is frustrating. And the draft into the entire restaurant when it’s cold and the door opens will make me think twice before going in the winter.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times over the past few years and have always had a great customer experience. HOWEVER, there have been quite a few changes since that should be mentioned with this new staff:
1.Please know that the waitress you have never met or done anything wrong to in life will look genuinely annoyed by your presence. God forbid she even say “Hello” or anything that makes you feel welcome.
2.Please DO NOT expect water or refills to be offered (I’m assuming it’s no longer courteous).
3.Please DO NOT expect silverware to be brought over automatically (you will have to stir your coffee with your finger).
4.Please DO NOT expect syrup to be brought to your table when you order pancakes (you will need to walk up to the counter to ask for this. Once your waitress takes your order you won’t see her again until you flag her down for boxes).
5.Please DO NOT expect to have additional napkins brought to the table or offered (until you are boxing your food).
6.Once you have your food all boxed up, you will have to wait quite a while, and you’ll never have your check brought over. However, once you are tired of waiting for your check, the first question asked at the counter will be, “Can I see your check?”
The food is still great, but it’s not worth dealing with people who clearly don’t want to be there and definitely don’t want you to be there.

Food was good but the service was awful!!! The waitress was dry, did not bring us any silverware or water. We had pancakes and I had to go to the counter to get syrup. The waitress did not smile or even act like she was interested in helping. Now I’ve been sitting here waiting for my receipt, because she hasn’t come back to the table. I would never come back here.
Edited to add, although our waitress was awful, the other waitress was very helpful. If we had cash on us, we would’ve left the tip for her, not the one that was supposed to be our waitress, that needs to learn customer service skills.

One of my favorite places. Coffee is always fresh grounded. Fresh squeezed oj. Homemade soups. Just a great place for anything!

I usually go to Mack Ave Grille to get their Reuben soup (which they only make on Monday’s), never had their breakfast. Today my partner and I wanted to try out a new spot for great breakfast and Mack Avenue Grill did not disappoint! We both ordered from the French toast corner and was well pleased with the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Overall great dining experience, no wait, no loud environment and great food for an affordable price. Definitely a satisfied customer!

My wife and I went for the first time yesterday. Service was excellent but quality or taste of food was bland. Coleslaw no flavor, tuna melt, same – only ate half (not the best quality of tuna). My wife’s cheese quesadilla basically tortilla with some shredded cheese melted on it and some raw onions and olives on the side, not worth the price. Again, our waitress was excellent but we had a feeling she too, thought the food was subpar. A lady in another booth was complaining as well. If the quality was better, the price would have been correct with the portion but it wasn’t. Didn’t bother taking leftovers home.

It was super rushed. Came every 2 minutes to ask if we were ready. The food looked good and it came on time, but it wasn’t good. The food was all dry and the fries were all stale. The check came the second we got our food. Felt kinda pushed out tho it wasn’t crowded. Probably won’t come back

Definitely would have gotten 5 Stars if it weren’t for all of the gnats flying around our table. The food was wonderful. Heather was really nice lady, but you could see on her face that she was warm. I definitely will be going back to try out the delicious looking French toast. Orange juice was fresh cranberry was delicious. My only suggestion would to be get bigger glasses. Lol

While doing matron of honor duties, I discovered this great breakfast spot with the bride in Grosse Pointe Woods.
Items aren’t marked gf on the menu, however staff informed me on what could be made gluten free, and that they had gluten free toast and pancakes. Everything was prepared with allergen protocol
