Blackened Rockfish tacos and a Turkey & Brie sandwich overlooking the water, nothing better! Lovely cafe on the water with great staff and food. Their menu has creative sandwiches and salads, not the typical stuff you find everywhere else, plus daily specials. Oh, the corn and crab chowder is a must have if you like crab soup – again, a nice variation from the typical cream of crab, which I do like too. We’ve gone here a fair number of times and the food has been delicious each time – we’ve gone by both land and sea. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

If you haven’t been to Machodoc Cafe, you need to go! This little gem had spectacular service, delicious food and great views.
Everything is made onsite with fresh ingredients including the chocolate ganache mousse cake!
We had the red, white and blue grilled shrimp salad, the reel McCoy BLT and fresh strawberry lemonade.
I forgot to take a picture of the buffalo shrimp but they were probably the best I have ever had!

I really enjoyed this quaint cafe that is off the beaten path. They have food & drink specials. My son & I enjoyed eating & staring out the windows onto the water.

Wow… what a find! A small, quaint lunch restaurant with a beautiful water view. The food was phenomenal, and the service was exceptional. Freshly caught rockfish is what got our attention. Rockfish sandwich. Chips and a cookie for my husband and I had the Red, White, and Blue salad topped with rockfish and homemade balsamic vinegar vingerette. Oh, and a homemade chocolate chip cookie.
We will definitely be back.

My new favorite lunch spot that’s not close to home. We stopped in on a Sunday and were treated to Rockfish tacos, one of the specials that day. They were quite tasty! You could pick up on the layers of flavor. Someone in the kitchen has a creative palette!

We love this place! It is situated on the Machadoc Creek. We were driving around on a Sunday and decided to stop someplace to eat and I Googled restaurants near me. Several restaurants came up and Machadoc was one of them so we navigated on over there. The restaurant was there by the creek and look so inviting. You have the option to eat inside or eat outside on the one of the decks. One is next to the entrance and the other is on the side that overlooks the creek. We always sit inside which is very nicely decorated. They have the best chowder I ever ate and they have designer sandwiches that come with chips, cookie and a pickle. We usually drink iced tea but I believe they have beer and wine. Just not mixed drinks. We drive from Locust Grove after church on Sunday because it is such a treat and the staff and owner are really nice. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

there are options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free/intolerant eaters. would definitely recommend the crab and corn chowder, tomato basil bisque, and the spinach panini.
