My family & I have been going here for years. Today we ordered 3 steak melts $16 each (yes expensive) & each one was slightly different. I was told this was a delicious sandwich, worth the price because of the amount of meat you get. They did great on accommodating each sandwich order but that’s where it ended. When my steak melt without onions arrived, I checked the sandwich to make sure it was correct. I found HUGE wads of fat on both sides of my sandwich. You know when you get a large piece of beef, maybe for pot roast, and see a nice thick, round chunk of fat – it helps with flavor but you don’t serve this to people. Apparently the cooks at MacGregor Draft House feel differently. The fat on my sandwich came to 2oz of solid fat. Yes, I picked any & all meat I could. Chefs simply take two forks to pull the fat away from the meat, especially when the meat is as tender- it doesn’t take much effort at all. The meat didn’t have flavor, definitely needed seasoning. Because the cooks decided these HUGE chunks were “edible” & slapped them on the sourdough, the bread absorbed ALL of the grease- making it soggy and disgusting. Nor was the bread actually toasted. I’m beyond upset over paying for a literal fat sandwich. We are in a difficult economy which makes it very important to serve people proper food and exactly what they pay for. I will not return to MacGregor Draft House. Honestly, I’d like a refund but I highly doubt MacGregor draft house would do it. All I could eat in the end was the meat. So upsetting- DO BETTER!

Photos: untoasted bread, all the fat, proof of the weight- yes the bowl weight was tared out, how much meat was left & you can see how soggy the bread.

Walking into this joint, I was met with an atmosphere that promised a culinary adventure, yet what awaited was a stark contrast. The fried pickles, encased in a fortress of breading, seemed to have lost their pickle identity somewhere along the way. The cheeseburger bun—unforgivingly tough, reminiscent of a well-worn shoe
French fries arrived unseasoned, lacking the simple magic a sprinkle of salt could provide. The potential here is palpable, yet the execution falls short. The waitress, however, was a beacon of warmth, and the beer flowed with a satisfying richness that hinted at what could be.
Despite a room humming with an older crowd and silver hair guys talking about there
Ferrari’s, it seems this place has settled into mediocrity. It’s a setting with promise, but the culinary experience needs to rise to meet the inviting atmosphere

Ordered the fish tacos and paid $16 for three tacos that were only half full and only had three (3) THREEEEE shrimp each, like it was actually so pitiful looking it was funny. Meanwhile my friends beef tacos were packed nearly full.
Server was very nice but the service was very slow for how not-busy they were. I ordered a water after we ate because I was never given one, and wasn’t given the water until after the bill was brought and paid for. Like literally 5 seconds before getting up and leaving.
Just a real meh experience.

What’s with all the low reviews? The food was very good, portion sizes were fair, price is average for the type of food. The layout was not bad, as other reviews state. The only complaint I have were the restrooms. They were very oddly laid out, small, and somewhat dirty.

We visited this place last week, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. We ordered the shrimp hushpuppies, but there was barely any shrimp in them, and the cornmeal was completely undercooked. For the price, the food was extremely underwhelming and did not meet expectations at all. Overall, it felt overpriced and overrated.

I had notified the Draft House that I’d be coming in Saturday afternoon with a group of about 35 hungry, thirsty cyclists after a 70-mile ride. They had tables reserved for us and the staff served us very efficiently. They have a good selection of beers and food, and we all had a fabulous time. I’ve been here many times over the years and always enjoy my visits.

Awesome, friendly place! I flew in from Phoenix to see my son, I was hungry when I landed & he took me straight here. I had a burger & fries (so satisfying ), a few beers & a shot with a few locals around the bar. We were having a blast! The staff were so nice, attentive & really made me feel at home. I actually can’t wait to go back when I visit again. So many great place right in this area. We hung out in this area for hours, every place was really welcoming but this was our favorite spot

We stopped here before a concert at Koko Booth. I had Fish and Chips and I must say, they were the best outside of the UK I have had in sometime. Perfectly light battered fish just the way I remember. Don’t change the recipe! I will be back. My better half got the smash burgers and that was also excellent. My wife could not finish it all, so guess who got surf and turf. Well, kind of. And yes, excellent, cooked just right and juicy. This was a Sunday afternoon and we sat at the bar. Would definitely visit again.

The food was reasonably priced and the quality was surprisingly fantastic. The Pretzel Sticks were hot and fresh, the cheese dip was unique and delicious, the shrimp hush puppies were good, though we were thinking they’d have actual shrimp in them, but still very good. All around, excellent appetizers. My friend also got a burger which was top tier. Excellent spot to watch the big game too. Wait staff was also above average and pleasant.

Justin, Sam, and Eric are the best! I came here for the first time since it switched ownership and it did not disappoint. Still has that same homey feel and the bartenders certainly make sure of that. The meatloaf was amazing and you get a ton of food for the price. Thanks y’all I will be back!
