This restaurant saved the day. We were traveling and had some issues getting to the airport and didn’t have time to eat prior to arriving. I let the waitress know we only had 45 minutes, she was very attentive and we were able to snack on chips and have fantastic food prior to our flight. I would highly recommend letting the waitress know upfront if you have time constraints because others at the airport might have several hours to burn and don’t want to feel rushed. We will be back!

Surprisingly delicious, great service, and very reasonable pricing. I had the egg & chorizo skillet.
Located inside the airport after security.

Worst Mexican food I’ve experienced. The food came out about 10 mins after ordering and looked, tasted, and felt like it had been sitting under a warmer for an hour. The beans are thick and dried out like a blob of paste. The tacos cold inside and slightly warm to the touch, meat inside was dried out and burnt and overall, over cooked. The Cadillac Margarita tasted like really cheap mix and was full of salt. Could not drink it, and I rarely send a drink back. The second version was less salty but not good. Still mostly mix. Not what I expected from Macayo’s. Have always had good food at the restaurants but not here. Service was quick and friendly, and the chips were okay, so that was good.

Interesting – possibly the best breakfast eats available at Mesa Gateway Airport! If you’re in the mood for Mexican that is. The quaintly detailed and laid-out format creates a conveniently comfortable setup inside and surprisingly also has a nice outdoor seating area. You can immediately tell Macayo’s has been cooking up a storm of Mexican in Arizona for a few generations now! Airport food is at best questionable, yet Macayo’s offerings are above and beyond what most any airport resto offers. On our way out of town recently we stopped in for a quick breakfast and were simply amazed at how good it was. My wife and Sis went for the Breakfast Burritos with warm flour tortillas and scrambled eggs, along with fried potatoes, and mixed cheeses, along with refried beans – delish! I had the Chorizo & Egg Skillet with nicely sauteed potatoes, little chunks of calabacitas, a super nice chorizo, stimulating relleno sauce, overlaid with 2 fried eggs, slice Avocado and refreshing Pico de Gallo. It looks like Macayo’s is doing what they do so well in their restos for those going airborne. Buen provecho ya’ll!

Service was excellent. Food was horrible. Strange substance in my taco. Beans were dry. Bean burrito was dry and overcooked. Told the tacos were frozen then warmed up so had no idea what the weird rubbery substance was. I love regular macayos restaurants. This was horrible. Food was like a frozen tv dinner warmed up. Chips and salsa was only good part of the meal.

The service was awful. The waiter never checked on us, or drinks were never refilled, and the staff was rude. The waitress that we flagged down had to go get our waiter, to tell us to get it bill, and then he took forever to give it to us…..then he took forever to come back and get us checked out.
They don’t offer chips and salsa while you wait. The food we did order was disgusting. The beans seemed old, the rice was not cooked enough, so it seemed tough.
The table was clean but the restaurant area was too warm to enjoy sitting there.
Overall, I would not recommend eating here EVER!

Stopped in prior to our flight. There were plenty of tables available around noon on a Thursday. Service was good and we enjoyed our meal. My wife had the Chimi and I had the Baja Burro. Both were large and very filling and tasted great.

Everyone here was very nice! We had the chimichangas, and they were amazing. The entire team were so friendly. I didn’t get everyone’s name except for Jennifer’s and she rocked!

The rice tasted and smelled like it had been sitting for several days. The burrito was all tortilla and the little bit of meat in it was so dry it was like sawdust
