Social Profile:

Mabu Kitchen is a French restaurant with a unique blend of Southern comfort food and bistro classics. Our approach is elevated but unpretentious. Our plating is elegant but our cuisine is down-home. We are a small family-owned BYOB and everything is made to order. We believe good food attracts good people. Antique mirrors, candlelight, and friendly service await on our cozy corner of Antique Row. When the weather is warm, we have outdoor seating along a shaded alleyway with potted blooms and bird serenades. We will celebrate your birthday, host your work dinner, or just make you feel at home when you want a quiet night out. Grab your favorite bottle of wine or Champagne and come for the Beef Bourguignon, stay for the warm hospitality.

This place delivered on food, service, menu selection, and vibes. Eat outside if you can! Super chill and romantic outdoor seating. Ratatouille was gorgeous and came with two pieces of warm bread. Cheeseburger and fries were great too. Flavor could’ve been improved a bit for both. This place definitely scores points for the vibes and service.

Phenomenal BYOB upscale restaurant. Small menu which helped me decide on the burger with fries (absolutely stunning!). Would definitely love to come back! Also they were very good with gluten free restrictions

We also got burrata to start us off and the chocolate pudding type thing for dessert. Everything was very very good and our server was awesome. To quote him “this is the best burger in Philly” and I haven’t had any other burgers in Philly yet but I wouldn’t be surprised, it might have been the best burger I’ve ever had

This brunch spot was exactly what you’d expect from a solid brunch joint. They were really accommodating when we showed up a little late, which we appreciated. We got the chicken and waffles and the Dutch baby, and both were great. No complaints at all. We ended up adding some fries to round things out and that hit the spot too.

Walking into a small dimly lit dining room with around 10 tables all conversing in their own way givea you that hygge feeling that an intimate dinner with friends is the forte here. One server seemed elegantly handle all tables and greeted us upon entering.

Mabu is a great BYOB option with fresh influence, we enjoyed the beet citrus salad and brussel sprouts, both bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed the beef bougionion which was a heavy flavorful dish great for a cold evening. Portions were great. Service and food were both punctual. Would be back for sure, perhaps if they could add a few more veg options is my only critique. Highly recommend!

Mabu Kitchen is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve hit the jackpot of charming spots in Philly. My spouse and I went there for a date night, and let me tell you, it was a perfect combo of amazing food and good vibes. The restaurant is so cozy and quaint—it’s like the kind of place you’d want to accidentally stumble into but then never leave (except they’d probably notice).

The atmosphere is super approachable, like your chill friend who’s got style but doesn’t make a big deal about it. It’s great whether you’re hanging out with old friends or testing the waters with new ones—no awkward vibes here, just great food and good times. The service? Impeccable. Seriously, these folks know how to make you feel like royalty without making it weird.

And the food… wow. Every dish was like a little party for my taste buds. You know it’s good when halfway through, you’re already planning your next visit just so you can eat it all over again. Mabu Kitchen totally nails it when it comes to being charming, delicious, and effortlessly fun. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out on some serious culinary joy.

Intimate space, appetizer and entree portions very small considering the prices but interesting ingredients and flavor pairings. Service could definitely be improved, we had to flag down the server/hostess multiple times just to close our check. Better places in center city.

Love!! I came here for brunch with a friend and we ate outside. The inside is small but it feels cozy and intimate. The service was excellent, the waiters were so friendly and helpful. I ordered the croque madame which was amazing – the ham had the perfect thickness, cheese melted perfectly, and egg cooked to order. The salad was fresh and had the tastiest, light poppy seed dressing. I also tried my friend’s turkish eggs which were delicious – light, lemony, and creamy. You could taste the care and quality with which the chef cooks every meal. For a relaxed, leisurely weekend brunch, this is the place to be.

Delightful find on Pine Street in Center City. We arrived on a Monday night to this gem which was quiet when we were seated but other diners arrived shortly afterwards. Very attentive waiter who timed the app then meal perfectly. Food was hot and tasty, I look forward to trying other French influenced choices in the future. Cozy atmosphere. French onion soup and beet salad were great, I enjoyed the citrus and goat cheese in the salad. Soup was rich with melted cheese and bread.

Very cute intimate setting in charming neighborhood and friendly staff. Loved the BYOB concept (shops 5-10min walking distance if you didnt think to bring any). High quality food, well executed classics- shepherds pie was suprisingly light thanks to a fresh take with lots of leeks, steak au poivre was perfectly cooked with a very flavorful sauce.

We got lucky getting a table, reservation is recommended!

Smaller menu but everything we had was delicious. Started with the macaroni and cheese as well as the beet salad. Portions were perfect, especially for the prices which were reasonable for a BYOB in this neighborhood. My wife’s burger was excellent and my fried chicken and waffles was unique in a great way. Flaky and crispy skin and I asked for more of the hot sauce. I usually find the waffles to be a side act in chicken and waffles, but these were light and airy, a perfect compliment. Outdoor section was tucked away in a quaint side street which made for a lovely atmosphere, even with our rambunctious 18 month old making her presence very well known!
