Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Mable’s. We were a group of 9 so I called ahead and Brian kindly helped us with the reservation and pre-ordering several items. Everything we ordered was great though my personal favorites were the tomato salad, sourdough focaccia and picanha. The service was wonderful as well and we would gladly return. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area!

Gorgeous interior. The service was good but not very friendly though I maybe they were having a rough day so I can’t judge too harshly. We got the cod and the carrots, the cod tasted like run of the mill fried fish but the carrots were amazingly soft. Wouldn’t go there for the taste again but would go there for the ambience (minus all the fruit flies at our table) and the surrounding nature.

Perfection.
I had a mid week meal at Mable’s that was perfection. It started with sunset viewed from the deck and a fabulous mezcal based cocktail Thru the Wire. They offered to bring out heat lamps to the deck but I opted to move indoors. I wasn’t prepared for a menu that had many of my favorite dishes. I opted for the Family meal with burata tomato basil bruschetta, oxtail ragu ( sourced from local Steme Creek), crème brûlée and a glass of house wine. My companion ordered off the menu so we could try more items. With several excellent seafood restaurants in Marshall, we opted to lean towards the beef options, sourced from temple Creek. We loved the winter chicory salad suggested by our server Katherine, with roasted delicata squash, pear, Point Reyes blue cheese, and a balanced pomegranate vinaigrette. The Stemple Creek braised short ribs were tender and in a rich red wine jus and came with za’atar roasted baby carrots. I’d order the carrots as a side if we didn’t have it with our ribs. The ragu was robust in flavor. With several excellent seafood restaurants in Marshall, we opted to lean towards the beef options. Our plates were immaculate after we scraped off every morsel. The crème brûlée was not overly sweet and had a perfect carmelized crust. The chocolate pot du crème looked like overkill but was a careful construction of texture, sweet, salt, and crunch without being overwhelming.
Weekday diners will help sustain this gem. It is worth the drive whether you are in West or Central Marin.

We went there last night for our anniversary dinner and had a wonderful time. Everything we ordered was excellent and was presented artfully. It was a splurge for us and did not disappoint!

Great food, nice coffee, lovely dining spaces, friendly service. We stoped by for brunch on our way from Napa to Point Reyes on a Sunday morning in late December, without a reservation.. Everyone in our party of 8 enjoyed their meals. The breakfast potatoes were delicious, the hamburger was perfectly medium rare (as requested), and the shakshuka, breakfast sandwich, French toast, focaccia, and griddled banana bread were all tasty and satisfying.

Drove on up the hidden hillside road to this little lodge and restaurant. It was just around opening time and we wanted to check this spot out and grab a drink on an overcast summer evening. We were more than welcomed by the sweetest woman at the bar, I believe she was a manager. While she scooted over to make room for us to get settled in as the staff was still prepping for the evening rush, she mentioned a few little tidbits about the local area. And of course we were very interested to hear her stories about the history of the location!

After a great conversation, we were even told we could take our drinks up to the viewing point on top of the hill right there in the backyard of the restaurant. What a view.

Incredible experience! Cannot wait to return.

We have visited every single restaurant in the area dozens of times, and Mable’s is the best. We love Tony’s, The Marshall Store, and all the rest, but Mable’s has far superior food at better prices. It also has a full bar. The setting is gorgeous and the service incredible, but the food took the spotlight. We got oysters, cesar salad, meatballs, trout, and homemade icecream and every single dish was delicious. We plan to return literally tomorrow for brunch. Speaking of which, Mable’s also has the best hours in the area by far! Dinner until 9 and brunch until 2 on weekends. Literally unmatched.

My partner and I were surprised and delighted by the spectacular cuisine, service, and views offered by Mable’s. What a treat!

The menus for dinner and brunch were innovative, drawing on fresh local food sources, perfectly executed by the talented chef.

Technically, Mable’s is named after M-A-B-L ,which stands for Marine Atmospheric Boundary Layer, a regional feature. To us, Mable’s means T-A-S-T-Y.

Bravo and thanks, we’ll be back!

The place is charming although service was extraordinarily slow. Our waiter was very nice, but there was no dress code for the wait staff and our waiter just had on jeans and a regular shirt. The menu was very small and including the specials there was some appeal to it, but the problem was in the execution. The breakfast potatoes came out covered in salt and heavily spiced such that they were not edible. While I appreciate that the coffee is made French press style, there were no refills except a couple of drips from an empty French press. I’m trying to be generous with my three star rating and I would not go to this place again especially given how remote it is. It’s so strange, because they brag about being farm to table and organic and all of that, but there’s no one executing the vision, like where is the Chef?

Probably the best of the restaurants in the area. Rockfish with corn was amazing. Steak was pretty good. Nothing amazing but good. Meatballs were not that good. They have a good sauce but they weren’t very soft. They have a menu of tinned local fish which is fun. The smoked trout was great. The people here are very friendly.
