Excellent Burmese food. The green tea leaf salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. We also loved the larb, the fish cakes, and the egg curry. We will definitely be back.

Just a really outstanding meal. All of the food that I had on my first visit to this restaurant was just bursting with flavor, served piping hot and made with fresh ingredients.
The owner even came out of the kitchen to check on us. You couldn’t ask for a better server, spot on perfect!
One word of caution though is that if you order spicy, you will get spicy. I like hot and ordered the “medium” spicy which was probably just a tad too spicy for my tastes. I was warned beforehand though. Next time I’m just getting no or low spice so that I can taste all of the wonderful ingredients in the dishes they serve!
The interior of the building is very basic, but I’m still giving them a full 5 stars, which I normally don’t give.

When we first moved to Fort Wayne, we decided to give Mahnin a try. We love hole in the wall restaurants but when we saw the sad fish in the almost bare fishtank, the florescent lighting, zero effort to make eating in a pleasant experience, we just turned around and walked out. Last night though, our go to Thai place didn’t answer the phone so I took a chance and ordered some Tom Kha to go. I was really hoping that what they lacked in decor, they made up for in flavor. Unfortunately, I was given a container that was mostly thin watered down coconut broth with just a few almost comically tiny scraps of chicken/herbs at the bottom. I wouldn’t have minded the lack of chicken if the broth was at least creamy and delicious. But it wasn’t. Perhaps the rest of their food is amazing. I mean judging from all the great reviews, it must be but I will not be returning to find out. It pains me to leave any small business a bad review but I do so in hopes that by being brutally honest, they might take note and make some changes.

Burmese food after noon, and Indian food earlier in the day. Located in a pretty rough part of town and someone has vandalized the front window which is taped up. Seem short staffed. Poor fella was the cook, server, and answering but was very friendly. Does not speak much english. He recommended the beef, but it was bone dry. Burmese Chicken Fried Noodles was really good. Thom Kha was fair, but had some bamboo in it which was hard to chew. Overall I think there are better places serving unique food in Fort Wayne such as Bankock Bistro. But if you want to try Burmese food specifically, this may be worth it. Waiter randomly gave us a bunch of candy, which was neet.

Not an adventurous person when it comes to food, so played it safe with chicken fried rice. And…WOW!! Makes me wanting more! Thought it was pricey for this meal but honestly it’s way worth it!! Also the little hint of spice is a nice change. A definite eye opener! Will for sure be coming here again!

A little “mom & pop” type of restaurant (my favorite) offering up Thai & Burmese food.
The atmosphere was a bit plain, no music, not a lot of decoration. About 10 tables with 4 chairs each. Parking is tighter, only about 6 spaces in the off-street lot.
The gentleman who greeted me was quick & friendly but a bit subservient. I don’t know his story but I’m not very comfortable with subservience. He kept my water glass full, though.
Due to an ongoing allergy issue, I can’t realistically review the taste of the food. My order of Pad Thai was hot, generous and looked delicious despite my inability to taste much. There was more garlic than in other versions I’ve had and I don’t mind that a bit.
The guava candies at the end I could actually taste. Nice.
