Ma Cuisine is a pleasant enough French-inspired spot that covers the basics without truly distinguishing itself in any particular area. Food, service, and atmosphere all sit comfortably in the middle — nothing that disappoints but nothing that truly excites either. For a restaurant with such a personal and evocative name, you’d hope for more passion and character to come through in the cooking and the space. A reliable choice for a casual meal, but with more ambition it could be something much more memorable.

Ma Cuisine was highly recommended to us by a friend – and our expectations were absolutely succeeded. Sean cooks and serves the BEST French cuisine, bringing cheeses and other goodies from his trips back here to Lowell. We got 2 homemade dinners, a cheese platter (his knowledge on these cheeses were fascinating and they were so very delicious!), homemade pesto, homemade truffle mustard, & a baguette! Sean was the most heartwarming person and was open in sharing his explorations and experiences – of which were beautiful! Sean’s place is full of pride and passion, this is a MUST visit if you’re in the area and we’ll absolutely be going back! <3

Ma Cuisine is the real deal authentic French food made with serious care and passion. Everything is crafted with care, and you can tell the owner truly puts his heart and time into it. Whether it’s a perfect baguette sandwich, fresh pâté, or something you’ve never tried before, it’s always top quality.

It’s not your typical grab-and-go place it feels like you’re taking home something special. The flavors, the presentation, even the vibe when you walk in everything about it is thoughtful and real. Can’t recommend it enough.

A rare gem of authenticity and generosity. I ordered the ham and gruyere on a baguette. While it was toasting I tasted homemade pate and cheeses for a cheese board. We talked food, books, Julia Child, and France. I walked across the street to beautiful, peaceful Whistler Park (there’s no seating in Ma Cuisine) and just enjoyed my delicious sandwich and the whole experience. Very satisfying.

I literally stumbled across this shop while visiting another food establishment nearby. I can’t resist a place that offers cheese, so ai went in. I was delighted to find out that tasting samples is encouraged here! I bought many things, including a ham and gruyere sandwich, a cheese plate full of incredible cheeses, pate, terrine, and a few other things. I found the prices to be very reasonable and I was extremely appreciative of the lesson in French cuisine. I live a bit of a distance, but I know that I will likely make a few trips back here throughout the year, because this shop is one of a kind.

I’ve been meaning to check out Ma Cuisine for quite a while and finally made it the other day. It’s a tiny shop on Market Street with limited hours but absolutely worth the effort to check out. It’s the kind of place where they prefer that you taste before you buy, a practice which I thought went out of fashion with the dinosaurs! The cheeses are exquisite and the country pate is to die for. I went in to check it out and walked out with a bag of delights. It’s not fancy, kind of reminds me of Cotes in that the emphasis is on providing tasty food rather than upscale presentation, very Lowell!

This place is amazing! The owner is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. His pates, sandwiches, baguettes, etc. are made with very high quality ingredients and care. He also has a well curated selection of French cheese, olive oil, pasta, Dijon mustard, and more. Everything I’ve tried was delicious! And it is surprisingly very cheap for the quality.

To go inside this shop is like entering the home kitchen of a world-class chef. If you are in Lowell at lunchtime and the chef is in, you will get to enjoy the fruits of him living his best life. Enjoy him sharing his joy.

We parked across the street and went inside, on a lark. We ordered ham and gruyere/brie melts which were delicious. Enjoyed chatting with the proprietor who’d just returned from France and had brought back some specialty items.
