I had an unplanned doctors visit this morning in Bethel Park (damn kidneys). Decided to do a solo breakfast date and found Ma and Pop’s Country Kitchen.
If you know me you know breakfast is a favorite of mine even if I don’t eat it often. This place is legit, a true old school diner feel, counter service and great food. I would put it up as one of my favorites around the city!
I went simple with the 2 egg breakfast, toast, bacon, and home fries with an extra sweet sausage patty.
The home fries were the real old school type that I love and don’t always get, a little crispy, but a little soft still, a nice bite and great seasoning. The waitress said not to skip the bacon, the thick cut bacon was crispy and still a bit floppy (I’m a floppy bacon guy) and it was really really good! The eggs I prefer mine a bit more diner style so slightly browned but these were solid! The sausage patty was so good and I feel like it would be even better in link form so I’ll try that next time.
Overall it was an awesome spot for breakfast, great food, fast service, and it was a good price. I will definitely be back!

I was at Best Buy in Bethel Park this morning and googled restaurants nearby for lunch . I prefer local (non- chain) places, so when I saw Ma & Pop’s Country Kitchen on South Park Road, I decided to try it.
This is a very popular diner with delicious food, reasonable prices and friendly service. I got the Reuben and fries, which was one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

Wish I was in town for more than just a day because I would definitely come right back! Food was great at a fair price and the servers made me feel right at home, even though I’m front out of state. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good place to sit down and enjoy a nice hot breakfast with a warm cup of coffee.

Growing up working restaurants i know fresh food. Fish is outsanding. Crisp and flaky probably the best fried cod i have ever had. Lobster bisc again probably some of the best i had. Macaroni and chips are delicious!! Nothing tasted like grease all fresh.

Always a pleasant experience! This little local diner has delicious breakfast, pizza, and fried cod!!!! I can’t comment on other items since these are my favorites. The fried fish is SOOOO GOOD. I couldn’t wait to eat it, which is why the photo shows it half eaten.
Good place for kids, too. Who knew a little diner would have really great (made from scratch) pizza?!

They had me from the minute I walked in. I was greeted with a smile from a teenage young man -what an anomaly. Everyone who provided service was exceptionally kind.
And as far as the food is concerned, it was delicious. I had a Reuben sandwich with fries and coleslaw. I was halfway through the meal before deciding to click a pic. It’s not an appealing picture so don’t hold it against them.
Interestingly I had direct view into the kitchen area (Having worked in a kitchen before I know that’s where the truth about a restaurant is told). It was evident that the workers really cared about the quality of food and service they provide.
I’d love to come back and try some other dishes. My neighbor had a smoked pulled pork sandwich. It looked delicious.

Fantastic cozy diner. Food was excellent. Wait staff was very attentive. We met one of the owners, and cook, very nice. We plan on coming back many times.
