Many people have never heard of Oriental, NC much less one of the best restaurants there – M&M’s. It’s been around a long time now and the locals know what visitors soon find out, it is a great place for good food and socializing. Whether you are a thirsty sailor, hungry farmer or passing tourist (likely dropping off your kids at one of the camps in the area) there is something for everyone.

This delightful place in this tiny town, the sailing capital of North Carolina, is nestled on “Water” street, just next to the harbor. Good food at reasonable prices, and excellent service. Quite a pleasant surprising find, and oh, so very much better than any of the fast food places.

Dropped kids off at camp and stopped by for a much needed drink and meal. Full bar and decent selection of beer on tap, wine, food specials, desserts. The lamb chops come with mint jelly! Chicken parm decent. Dessert homemade and delicious. Will go back. Nothing fancy no frills good food comes out fast! indoor outdoor seating and bar. Bathrooms tight behind the bar . . . Could be a challenge if you have mobility issues. Looks like a house that somebody repurposed. Parking is around back/side. Plenty of open tables at 5 on a Sunday in the summer but the place filled up super fast.

First visit here, ordered traditional burger, they instead brought me a blue cheese mushroom burger. I didn’t object, figured I’d try it (did not love that combo, but the burger was quite good). There were only two of us, so not a complex order, so a bit disappointing. Waitress was nice. Very nice outdoor space on screen porch.

What an outstanding food find!!! This place is in Oriental, NC and is a must visit. I found a delicious new beer to drink. The calamari was excellent my crab roll was to die for. Mom had the Cubano that was different but amazing. The chocolate cake was fabulous. Service was outstanding and friendly. Thanks Taylor!!! She pointed out that she learned how to be a good server from her boss Dave. (Got your back T!)

Definitely a must do if you’re in oriental NC. I had the shrimp and scallops penne and it didn’t dissapoint. Huge portions without sacrificing the taste. They didn’t skimp on the seafood either.

Food was great, we tried the shrimp and scallop penne and the crab meat sandwich. Service was good but kinda slow since it looked busy for a Monday night and may have been understaffed. Either way, it took a long while for the food and check to come but server was sweet.

@barrescue really needs to get ahold of this place. By far the worst experience we have ever encountered at a restaurant. We were on a mini vacation in Araphoe, NC. After waiting for drinks near 15mins, food for over an hour, we finally decided to leave after taking two bites of a terrible appetizer that had been reheated in the microwave before serving it to us. We were seated outside of the kitchen and could see them reheating multiple dishes during our time there. The staff we encountered were rude and very unprofessional! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

LOVE THIS PLACE! I try to go on every visit to Oriental. They have an extensive menu to please everyone that walks thru their doors. I’ve thoroughly enjoying everything I’ve chosen. Don’t miss the specials boards near the front door. Outdoor seating is protected so even if the weather isn’t perfect, your visit and meal will be! Don’t wait to try for yourself!
