M Kokko was really really good. Te service was excellent and we were very well taken care of. The atmosphere is very nice just VERY small as per the 4 stars for atmosphere.

I had the Bahn Mi sandwich. The pork was perfectly cooked, the relish was fresh and crisp, and the tonkotsu sauce add great flavor. I omitted the kewpie mayo. Their house chips are amazing with a really good seasoning. My husband had the chicken wings(of course) and they were very meaty and sauced perfectly. We both had Sapporo to drink. Overall everything was great!

I wish I loved it more because we drove an hour just to try this place. The pork and toppings on the ramen was very good but the broth was insanely salty. I thought it was just my bowl but every bowl in our group was the same. Jjajiang was also very very salty. Only good dish was the fried chicken.

I really love these “M” restaurants. The concept of small plate cooking is something fantastic. The chef gets to focus on very minimal dishes and they make sure those dishes are perfect.

The lower rating is purely because of the small cramped up place. No way to make reservations … waitlist is on an iPad. Now we don’t mind that kind of an experience but that’s usually at a fast food kind of a place with Fast food kinda prices.

Please don’t misunderstand, this is a fantastic place to have dinner. Great food with simple ambiance.

Friendly staff and really good food! We got the Korean Fried Chicken (soy garlic!), Jia Jiang Noodles which were super good, and the Biang Biang Noodles. Also got the chocolate tart, which we really liked.

Limited seating, so small parties (1-4 people) are best. Tucked behind M sushi.

If you’re looking for a meal that’ll make you wish you could eat the same thing every day, M Kokko is the place to be. We went with three people, and, as soon as the dishes hit the table, we were completely blown away. The menu is perfectly curated (thankfully, not overwhelming), and honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on it.

We kicked things off with the Nashville hot chicken wings, which packed a punch but were perfectly crispy, followed by the pork belly bao—oh my—it was so tender and flavorful, it practically melted in your mouth. The beef noodles? Unfortunately, we got so caught up in devouring them, we forgot to take a picture, but let me just say they were divine. Tender beef, savory broth, and noodles that soaked up all the goodness—you can’t leave without trying them.

We washed it all down with some sake and a beer, but at this point, we were eating so fast and in such bliss that we were already planning our next trip before we even finished our meal. The service was also top-notch, which only made the experience that much better.

If you’re in Durham, you need to make M Kokko a priority. Trust me, it’s worth every bite. We’ll definitely be back.

This place is fantastic!! Worth a short to medium wait. Ideal for parties of 4 or less, but there is some flexibility for maybe 6. It’s a hole in the wall place and it is small so plan smart! 🙂

The food is to die for. The garlic soy chicken is incredible! And the pork buns were worth it too. I got the regular ramen but tried my partners and I’ll ge the spicy next time.

The coconut sorbet is a MUST!

TL;DR – great food, great staff, a little slow.

I’ve been here a few times now. The first couple times the whole experience has been great. It was a little rough this time around. It took about 40 minutes to get a chicken sandwich after ordering. I don’t know where the hiccup was in the service, as this was the first time I’ve had issues. Regardless, the staff are friendly, the food is fantastic, but the timing could be greatly improved.

The chicken sandwich, while not quite Nashville hot, was very flavorful and had an excellent tempura breading. The salad was well balanced. I don’t think you can really go wrong here.

Currently, they are walk up only, and we didn’t have much trouble getting a table.

I only leave reviews when I think it’s worth it, and M Kokko was worth every cent. I’m from Philadelphia, and M Kokko is the first place I’ve tried in RDU that matches the authenticity, flavor, and style of Korean and Asian inspired cuisine back home. My waitress, Ness, was kind and attentive, and felt like I was talking to a friend. Everyone there was really chill and down to earth. I’ll definitely be back, especially for the banh mi and ramen.

I went there just yesterday.

They didn’t take reservation considered maybe restaurant capacity is super small. Not design for groups.
When we came, restaurant are full, we were on waitlisted number 10….they didn’t provide approximate time of waiting. So if you in the hurry, find somewhere else. We went to a tap room nearby, just 5 min. walking distance.

Not that long there, we got txted that we are second to the line. We walk back…wait around 10 min for our table.

I know their busy, but our waiter, a white, glasses, tall long hair guy, was just not friendly. I know they want to get things done and get away with it, but…. So for this kind a service I just have to drop to 2 stars, sorry! This is my first time to the restaurant, and my overall experience, so not welcoming. Even you are a popular and so well-known restaurant, but friendliness has to be there as part of your service.
Next the pork belly bun as not as shown in the picture, so under seasoned, and that is shredded pork bun, I tried to asked to that not so friendly waiter, but he said it is pork belly..well whatever…
Spicy Wings also underseasoned.
Ramen Noodle; Noodle texture was top notched, Coconut Sorbet was amazing. I just missed Hainan Chicken Rice, since they sold out.
