It’s really hard to find halal Mala, so I was super happy when I discovered this place! I love the restaurant’s ambience — cozy, modern, and clean.

The only thing I didn’t quite like is the pricing. We spent around RM200 for two persons, thinking we made the right choice to go for à la carte — but later realized the buffet only costs around RM60+ per person. I don’t blame the shop for charging higher, considering their ambience, but the pricing should match the locality’s income level.

If this were in Bangsar, Mont Kiara, or TTDI, the price wouldn’t be much of an issue. But this is Setapak, where most residents are from a mid-level income community. I’d definitely be a long-term customer if the prices were a little more reasonable. RM8 for a bundle of cabbage? Err… maybe the restaurant owner could reconsider the pricing.

Of course, I’m not expecting rock-bottom prices — just something more affordable and worth it. The owner might also consider adopting the Malatang concept, where customers pay by weight — it’s quite trendy nowadays. Maybe collaborating with influencers could also help increase awareness.

I genuinely hope the business continues to thrive so I can keep enjoying good halal Mala close to home!

Honestly, it was one of the best Hot pot I’ve ever had.
The place has two floors.
The first thing you notice is the food and the service. It’s super clean and neat!
Just looking at the plates with its colours and presentation is satisfying. Not mentioning the taste yet.
The meat and fish: just wow
I enjoyed each bite and the potato noodles
The lightning, both natural during the day and at night, makes you feel the space is wide and big. I spent 4 hours there with my family and friends enjoying food and drinks.
The menu has a variety of options, and what makes it special is the veggies and many other stuff imported from China in its specific season.
The teas and herbs: super!
They also have unique juices.
All of the herbs are also from China fresh and different.

You feel full but light at the same time after finishing food, and the soups are tasty.

Highly recommended.. enjoy your experience ✨️

Service needs massive improvement. Everything we request to the waiter/ waitress needs reminders. Top-up soup never came. If you are sitting at the top floor, please make sure there is a waiter / waitress in stand by. Other that this all was well.

Our first time trying the mala hotpot. It’s such a great experience and the staff are friendly as they frequently checked on us. Good selection of condiments and the choices of meals are satisfying. Priced on the higher side but it all depends on the choices of meal that you took. We’d come back here again

Had dinner with my family here, and we had the best hotpot experience ever. My dad (actual chinese) also agreed that the spicy soup was really good! Variety of sauce available in the back of the restaurant. Fast service too!

Sharing my experience dining here recently as a vegetarian. In short, it was good!

Had some trepidation initially as none of the soup base options in the menu were vegetarian but since my non-vegetarian friends wanted to dine here, I went along with it and told the waiter we just wanted plain water in one half of the pot (along with a mala broth in the other half). To my surprise, they’d went and filled up the plain water with mushrooms, red dates, ginger and other condiments to help flavour the soup! It was such a pleasant surprise and as a result, we had a nice meal.

The condiment section in the back was also helpful, got my helping of mala powder, white sesame seed, chili oil, peanuts and fresh coriander to add to my meal.

Thank you once again for being so accommodating, hope the owner would consider adding a vegetarian option in the future 😀

Went on saturday’s night around 9pm, restaurant kind of empty. First time to try chinese hot pot and mal soup.

Food and taste wise, mala soup (less spicy) is still spicy but acceptable, but too much spices for me which quite disturbing. Tomato soup was nice, but can be improved. Other ingredients for the hotpot are on ala carte basis, you pay for whichever menu you want (including sauce). Overall taste was good, but not impressive.

Price on a high side for all menus, i think this has make it difficult for guests to repeat this restaurant as often. Plus you need to pay rm3/person to take sauce from the counter. Maybe can consider the sauce for free after expensive ala carte menu?

Service was okay, they did explained the menu recommendation after being asked.
