What a wonderful meal to start the day! We got a reservation at 11 and were greeted by smiley & kind staff. The hot chocolate and sujungwa latte were so delicious. All the desserts were so beautiful and scrumptious! Our favorites were the winter citrous tart and, of course, the Lysee. The corn and kouign amann were so delicious as well. We will definitely be back again because there were so many things on the menu we didn’t try (and we want to try them all!)

Absolutely loved the deserts at lysee.

Got the very important chocolate cake, the namesake(the lysee) and petit Jardin.

I loved the savory elements in their deserts. The lysee was savory, crunchy and salty with caramel and toasted brown rice.

The petit Jardin had calamari cream on top and if you like coconut is the choice for you.

The chocolate cake was a very good chocolate cake but my least favorite of the three.

The packaging and presentation were spectacular. Will definitely be back here. Would rank over levain or Dominique ansel IMO

The cakes are beautiful and meticulously done. You can see and taste how much work went into them. They are delicate and the flavors are well-balanced. We had the corn cake (which really tasted like corn), the classic Lysée cake (the one that looks like their logo), the pineapple basil tart (Petit Jardin) and the Asian pear tart (Pear-Yuja). The pineapple basil tart was pineapple-forward with subtle basil and coconut flavor. All of the cakes were good but especially the Asian pear one stood out to me — the flavors were so light and refreshing which went really well with the buttery crust. We also had the mushroom quiche, which was the only vegetarian savory pastry available. It was so good. Again, you can tell that the chef really knows her craft — harmonious flavors, the puff pastry was buttery, flaky, and crisp on the edges, and it had the right amount of sauce.
The craft even continues to their hot beverages. Some of the more unique drinks we had — Sweet Potato Latte and the Sujungwa (Cinnamon- Ginger) — were delicious, well-rounded, and not too sweet.

We were a group of 4 so we got to sit in the more secluded room in the back, facing the kitchen, which was cozy and private. The top floor is their “museum” where all of the delicious creations are displayed like art.

Definitely higher price point with mushroom quiche at $18.50, small tarts ranging from $16.50 – $18 and signature drinks starting at $9, but well worth a visit for a treat.

Our server Robin was knowledgeable on the menu, helpful, attentive, and friendly.

Walking into LYSÉE feels more like visiting a gallery than a bakery. The second floor is a stunning showcase of their pastries, while the first floor offers a cozy (though very small) dine-in area.

The pastries are exceptional and hit that perfect “not too sweet” note. The Corn is a must-try! Because the seating is so limited on the first floor, definitely book a reservation ahead of time. It’s a bit of a splurge, but absolutely worth it for a special occasion or a high-quality treat. Chef Eunji Lee’s Michelin expertise really shines through in every bite

Had the 4 item selection with the corn, lysee, fruit tart and the chocolate cake. Every dessert was beautifully made, but found the flavors to be muted. Seasonal hot chocolate was excellent.

Beautiful gallery of desserts upstairs where one can order takeout.

If you’re looking for a truly memorable dessert outing in NYC, Lysée is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the space strikes you with its minimalist elegance — part art gallery, part pastry boutique. The desserts themselves are next-level, blending French technique with Korean-inspired flavors and New York
We loved the Corn mousse cake, which literally looks like an ear of corn and tastes delightfully nuanced rather than just sweet. Another favorite is the signature brown rice mousse cake, featuring toasted Korean brown rice mousse, caramel and pecan sablé — rich yet refined.
We tried the dessert tasting but felt we could have just got individual desserts instead of that. I’d recommend reserving in advance

I made a reservation for a la carte as I didn’t feel that hungry. After we got sat, they let us visit the upstairs to view the beautiful desserts that Lysée makes. The shop is pretty small, but there was enough wow factor if you have no prior knowledge to the desserts. Then we headed down and ordered some drinks and desserts. The drinks were very creative, clearly pulling a lot of inspiration from Korea. We ordered the corn and the VIC. It was very fun presentation to eat a corn inspired dessert made with white chocolate, cream and corn while VIC was so decadent it simply melted into my mouth. The texture was also very fun in both desserts I definitely recommend to try.

It was 4th time visiting Lycee today.
I was treating my friend today and she loved how pretty desserts are. The second floor has a showroom and you could get to-go orders.
And the coffee was so good. My drink Maeshil sunset had Green Plum, Fresh Orange Juice, Yuja, and Sparkling Water in it.

Lysée, created by a Michelin-starred chef, is truly one of Manhattan’s gems. The dessert gallery feels like edible art – each piece is light, elegant, and never overly sugary. The croissants are the best I’ve ever had in my life – perfectly flaky, buttery, and unforgettable.

The space is boutique-style, clean, and refreshingly non-commercialized. Deserts are available to-go. Seating is limited and the tables are small, but that only adds to its intimate charm. Service on my visit was excellent, even though I’ve seen mixed reviews.

Overall, Lysée has become my absolute favorite bakery in Manhattan – a place where artistry and flavor come together in every bite.

Overall, the breads were unique and interesting, and the welcome drink was refreshing and very enjoyable. The pairing of bread with the three sauces was well-balanced, and I could see why it is so famous.

However…
When I made a reservation for the $60 per person bread omakase, run by fellow Koreans, I specifically requested a comfortable seat for my wife since she is pregnant. Yet we were seated at a hard chair table instead of a sofa table. In addition, while other tables had their water (free) refilled regularly, since we ordered sparkling water, we did not receive the same service. Moreover, I found it disappointing from a hygiene perspective that the head chef, who is also the owner, was standing at the counter where the breads were displayed ready-to-serve, laughing and chatting with guests directly over the food.
