Rubbish & Rude
I ordered a Manhattan, bartender while she had confidence just no skills. Terrible cocktail made with spoiled vermouth. Yes people, vermouth needs to be refrigerated. Theirs was not, old and spoiled.
Bruschetta was laughable… no salt on the tomatoes, and zero basil. Made with a balsamic glacé product so it lacked acidity.
Potato corn chowder, lacked any seasoning, or flavor seemed to be served cold at first, then a nuclear hot spot, it had been microwaved.
Veal francaise was rubbish. Tough veal, bland, no veloute or pan sauce. Served dry. Pasta was mush with overpowering raw lemon juice the only distinguishable flavor.
On my way out, after eating 2 bites of everything I saw Dan. I explained what a terrible experience it was and his response was…. “I find that hard to believe, my food is great. People love it”

My best friend’s fiancé and his friend have a music production company. So we go to most of the concerts they put on. We went to see Dark Sarcasm this Saturday. We’ve seen this band multiple times and they are always great. The restaurant staff were less than great. Upon checking in, to VIP because the stage crew always puts us VIP. We got drinks and the bartender had to take my credit card across the restaurant because they didn’t have a card machine behind the bar?? And then we went to go say hi to the crew and band; that we know and who got us tickets. The server that was checking everyone in told us that we couldn’t be back there during sound check. I told her that we know them and were just saying hi. She said ‘I love that for you but you can’t be here.’ We left but not after I repeated that we knew them and were just saying hi and thank you for the tickets. We then asked the bartender if we could eat the VIP food as we didn’t want to get spoken to again. The blonde bartender said yes. But then not even 2 minutes later the owner comes by and tells us the food is for VIP only and we aren’t allowed to have it. The hour that we arrived was for VIP hour only. So we were?? And when the same blonde bartender tried to bring out more food the owner again yelled at her to not do that. She did a great job and hustled with all the customers. Props to her. The owner yelled at multiple members of his staff in front of patrons which is very disrespectful to your employees and your clientele. The cherry on top was that the owner refused, refused, to turn the heat on. It was 32 degrees outside and raining and it was only 50 inside. Crew complained, the band complained, patrons complained. People even started messing with the thermostat and the owner kept turning it back down. People were in their winter jackets. The owner, I’m assuming, finally gave in and turned the heat on about 45 minutes before the show was over. Love Dark Sarcasm but the restaurant was less to be desired and doesn’t deserve a return visit.

Been roaming around near my workplace for my Friday dinners, but I’ve plum run out so I moved into more local eateries near my home. I use to know this spot as Crystal’s Restaurant, but that was years ago and it has since been reworked into the Lyon Street Bar and Grill.
Put my order in though their website, originally ordering the Pulled Chicken Sandwich and Breaded Cheese Cauliflower, but I was called shortly after my order went though and told they no longer have the pulled chicken but they do have a grilled chicken. A shame for sure, but at least they were quick on the draw for notifying me, just need to get on their website and remove that option.
When I arrived, which mind you I put that order in online hours before I arrived, I was told it would be a couple more minutes. “Ok” I said, and proceeded to wait 10 more minutes until it was done. Seriously? I understand being short staffed, which one of the employees was complaining about, but to not have an order put in 4 hours before they customer arrives ready for them is baffling. Need to work on that prep time.
Digging into everything at home I loved the Cauliflower bites, just the right amount of cheesiness and made ever better with the marinara sauce. The grilled chicken sandwich was… wet, the bun it was on was way too small and the bottom bun was soaked in the rather watery sauce. The sides I picked, old fashioned Western mashed and grilled veggies, were disappointing. The mashed potatoes were cold, flavorless, and way too chunky. The grilled veggies were more like sautéed veggies, and pretty oily. Not great.
At the end of the day I was torn between a 3 or a 4, because if I could give this place a 3.5 I would. But Google doesn’t deal in half stars, so I really thought about it and decided to round up in lieu of the fact the Lyon Street Bar and Grill has very little reviews as it stands. But that is the only reason.

The Italian Buffet this evening was amazing. So much to choose from. Fresh rolls, two different soups, amazing array in the salad bar, PLUS all the hot dishes. The eggplant rollatini, vodka rigatoni, and shrimp tortellini were among my favorites, with several other choices to choose from. I wish I had taken pics but I was too busy eating!

We went on the tail end of dinner service. They had a fire place lit on the patio. We were the last table of the night they told us to pull our table right near the fire brought us a candle and put on some pink Floyd quietly in the background.
Food was good. Nothing super fabulous but we were looking for a warm homemade dinner and that’s what they nailed!
Place would get more stars if I could

Came here on a Friday night on a recommendation.Felt more like a venue than an actual restaurant, line dancing was being held in the banquet room which shouldn’t have impacted us at all but that was clearly the priority and not the patrons in the restaurant. Some of the worst service I’ve had of my life, waited 35 minutes for our drinks,we were right on the verge of leaving. There were only a handful of other people in the dining room so we figured it would be better for food, boy were we wrong.Took almost another two hours to order, get our food and then check. We had other plans for the night but they were ruined because we stuck here all night.Food was ok,I got pulled pork nachos which were meh, store bought tortilla chips with pork that seemed to be cooked in a crockpot.
Overall food was meh, service was absolutely atrocious.I understand that this is recently reopened and they are trying very hard but this is absolutely not how you make a good impression.

I have tried this place twice and twice I was disappointed. The food was cold every time I had it. I ordered potato skins that were ice cold in the middle and probably heated in the microwave. The pulled pork sandwich was also cold. The plates themselves are cold making anything that is warm become colder. The only thing that was hot was the mac and cheese which quickly became cold due to the cold plate. There was a bunch of flies flying around the table near the window. The only plus side was the beer was cold and the wait staff was delightful. The flavor of the food is good but this issue of everything being cold needs to be fixed asap. You could also hear the staff screaming at each other in the kitchen. I won’t be back anytime soon there are plenty of other restaurants near by that also have cold beer and warm food.

There is a dining room and a bar area. They also have a large banquet room and a patio in the summer.
I was greeted and seated within seconds. The waitress asked if I wanted something to drink and took my order. The rest of the staff were also friendly and the owner stopped by to check on how things were.
When my meal arrived, I was stunned at the size of the plate and the portions; both were huge. The food was good and I brought half of it home with me.

First time ordering takeout from Lyons and I have to say that it was an absolutely fantastic meal. Compliments to the chef for everything that was on my platter. I had barbecue chicken sandwich with my sides, my girlfriend had brisket with no bun and potato skins with brisket. We both cannot believe what an incredible meal was served to us. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable experience.
