Amherst Diner has a pleasant country-themed atmosphere, and they serve traditional breakfast meals such as hot cakes and eggs. They also have lunch options available, such as sandwiches, salads, and soups. It does get a bit busy at times, so there may be a small wait for seating and meals.

A small “home town” diner. Good food. Lots of local traffic.

Wife stopped in for lunch between doctors appointments as usual, about a $13 lunch. She gave them a debit card and told them to add 20% for the tip. The next day I found $114 charge on her account from the diner. Called and they said only Lynette can handle this issue, she’s not in yet, took my name and number and said she would call back. I called back a few hours later and they said she just left. Haven’t been able to get a hold of them since after repeated tries. No one answers the phone number that google provides. Filed a dispute with my bank, and filed a police report for theft. Still waiting for a call back from the diner to resolve. Could be an honest mistake, could be fraud, who knows? They seem reluctant at best to resolve the issue. Never had a problem here before. Caveat Emptor…

Update: I was finally able to reach the owner who investigated the issue, then called me from the bank and issued a $100 refund, and was very apologetic. She offered my wife a free meal on her next visit.

What a find! A small, female run Diner in Winchester VA with home cooked meals, generous servings, very reasonable prices and really friendly service. I get to Winchester twice a month and will go out of my way to eat here and bring a friend.

Very cute and authentic diner. Friendly people. This was my first time visiting a diner on my US trip and loved it! Stopped by and tried the homemade apple crumble pie which was delicious and enjoyed a few cups of coffee.

This is a wonderful diner. My wife and I eat here when we are in this part of Winchester. The breakfast options are plenty, and the food is delicious. The ladies working at this diner are friendly. Great food at an affordable price!

It was ok, maybe I just ordered the wrong food or it was the wrong day. Biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were extremely dry. So much so that the pound of thick gravy couldn’t save em. My scrambled eggs weren’t good. But I’m not one for restaurant eggs. My dining companion had 2 eggs over medium, home fries and an English muffin. His was good. That’s why they got 3 stars. We saw quite a few orders of pancakes with gravy on them going out so maybe that’s the thing to get. The guy next to us got a chicken sandwich and barely ate half. The server never asks you how the food is The hostess lady was super friendly! The sign outside still says Amherst Diner.

It’s quaint diner, food was okay, not bad but nothing omg great either. We did sit at the counter which is fun to watch them cook, but I’m also not a fan of plain fingers not gloved scooping out omlet toppings into a bowl to serve guests. Especially after watching her work for 20 minutes in the grill and touching just about every cabinet door and surface in the kitchen. To me, grab a spoon to scoop out.
