This is not just another seafood spot; it’s a culinary adventure that showcases bold flavors and creativity. It’s absolutely worth going out of your way to try. If you find yourself anywhere near the Ohio River, make sure to put Lure at the top of your list. A must-visit!
I stopped into Lure during a visit to the riverfront area while in Owensboro. I was craving seafood and decided to give it a try. Lure is a restaurant in the Hilton Hotel serving Fish, Oysters, Pasta, Seafood and a few cuts of meat. The restaurant has a great ambience inside and a few seats available outside for dining. On this visit, I had some fresh and plump oysters followed by the Snow Crab and Lemon Ricotta Ravioli as I was in the mood for pasta. The ravioli was not too drenched in the past sauce and although a little light on the crab meat, they were able to pull off a very good pasta dish. Overall a great meal, a little on the pricy side due to it being a hotel restaurant and right on the river downtown but the food was fresh and made very well.
I had lunch, and my review is strictly based on lunch. Caesar salad was horrible. It is an abomination to Ceasar salad. Dressing is not Caesar, pre-shredded cheese is used, and the extremely poor quality of what seems to be Parmigiano is beyond disappointing. Not a hint of anchovies, no sign that olive oil was used, or lemon.
I could go on…. but those who know that this is terrible cuisine, KNOW.
Lure Burger was okay. I dislike Brioche, so that may be the reason I couldn’t adequately rate the burger.
They don’t know how to serve coffee and have a lack of etiquette in this area. But we aren’t in Europe, so I adjusted my norm. Surprisingly, I liked the coffee even though it was NOT fresh. Sadly, they would not re-fill it for me.
For $100.00, I expect a much better quality of ingredients and another helping of coffee, somewhat properly served.
The desert was palatable. The way it was served is less than appropriate. Wooden, WORN out chopping board????? Eekk! What are we? Pigs?
My pigs eat off of boards such as these.
Whipped cream is NOT whipped-cream. ♀️
If the owner(s) doesn’t realize they are serving poor quality food, they need a reality check.
Gordon Ramsay, soon?
