I had a fantastic experience at Luquin’s 454 Mexican restaurant! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with vibrant decor that made me feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes, and everything I tried was packed with flavor. My favorites were the sizzling fajitas and the guacamole, which was fresh and delicious. The portions were generous, and prices were reasonable for the quality. Overall, I highly recommend Luquin’s 454 if you’re looking for great Mexican food in a lively atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back!

Coming from Texas, I expected the Mexican food to be just OK, but was pleasantly surprised…it was good! I had a crispy chicken taco, chili relleno, rice and refried beans. They gave you ample food and it had great flavor. I even liked the salsa, a lot! Add to that, great service from Anna. Even with it being a large group with individual checks, she stayed on top of everything (even refilling my tea with having to ask). I’ll definitely go back
****I’ve been numerous times now and have tried many different dishes, all very good. I really like the chili rellano and chicken enchiladas. Staff are all very friendly, and very accomdating

After a few visits, I can now say that might be the worst carnitas I’ve ever had!
Last night’s meal was not only dry but also a small portion…for $22!
The Fresh Lime Margarita was barely drinkable but the top-shelf version was better.
I’ll be looking for a new Mexican restaurant on island…

I ordered the à la cart Flautas.
Thinking that would be just a light meal.
This is fabulous. I’ll have to take half of it home. I love this place.!

This restaurant was recommended to us as we were on island for the day from Oahu and didn’t have too much time to wait. We were seated quickly and had fresh chips and salsa soon after being seated. Chips were good, I belive it was home made and the salsa was delicious, not too spicy- very flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised to see tofu as a protein choice! My vegan heart was so happy! In the fbd, I choose the bean taco buwn minus the dairy. Overall, good food, quick service, reasonable prices too. I’d come back next time I’m in Hilo

Delicious Mexican food! The front of the restaurant has a bar but the back is a nice spacious family friendly restaurant.

Food and service was top notch….. But beware with fluctuating tequlia prices. They don’t list the prices for the differnet tequilas. We ordered Patron silver on the rocks last week and it was $10.00 a shot. 3 days later it’s $14.00. We are now going to Keleo’s where the Patron tequila is $10.00 a shot. And the food and service is also fantastic.

This is my sister’s favorite Mexican restaurant in Hilo, but my wife and I were unimpressed after 2 visits. On the positive side, excellent chips and salsa, very friendly service, and relatively inexpensive when compared to other local restaurants. Downside for us was that the dishes we had were bland and tasted the same. I tried a taco salad and a beef burrito and my wife had a chicken flauta and a chicken enchilada. The portions were generous but flavor seemed lacking to us.
