Lupo verde is a very comfortable place to be at. The music sets the vibe, the service matches the esthetic the quality of food and restaurant. Our server was Nepel I believe, they treated us nice, plus it was my birthday. He came to our table with a warm presence every time. The best part were the drinks and when the manager comes to sing happy birthday, when I tell you he can sing, he can sing! Again thankyou so much for having us, I will be booking with you all in the future-for any big parties I have. Please try lupo verde out, enjoy.

Probably wont be back. The atmosphere and service is amazing! However the food was bad or okay. I had to send back the mussels (which I never send back) because they were so fishy and inedible. Ragu pasta is as okay, lasagna was not flavorful. Overpriced compared to quality of food

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in DC. Recently came here on a Saturday night w/ a party of 4 (made same day reservations). Sat inside, in the back corner. Place can get a little dark inside, but overall vibe is fine. We had great, attentive service. Food is delicious, as always. Our main pasta dishes were pretty rich, to the point that we couldn’t finish them.

Came here on accident, and it was an amazing surprise! We sat at the bar, and the bartender was great. He helped guide our decision on which cocktail to choose, and the flawlessly crafted it. The food was OUTSTANDING. From the bread they give you as a warmup, to the san Marzano red sauce, the ragu sauce…everything about this place was 5/5. Wonderful ambiance as well. I had never been here before or even heard of it, but now I will absolutely become a regular.

Went for dinner date on Tuesday and was seated right away without reservation, great service by authentic Italian accented servers, esthetic design of the inner dining area, and delicious pasta! Also, they allow inkind app so great deals and discounts!

We come here a lot and really love it. The vibe is cozy, the service is excellent (if you sit at the bar, Ivan is a delight) and the pasta is delicious (I recommend the squid ink pasta, and my husband recommends the cacio e pepe). It’s a bit pricey, but worth it with the right order — the carpaccio is also excellent.

My experience at Lupo Verde was just okay—nothing truly stood out or fully met my expectations. That said, I’m open to giving it another try to explore other items on their menu.

The ambiance is a definite highlight. It’s a cozy spot, perfect for dinner with friends or a date night. They offer a cozy, inviting indoor area and a lovely patio, that is ideal for enjoying a nice evening in DC.

I ordered the lasagna, but unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed. There are other dishes on the menu that have piqued my curiosity, and I’d be willing to return to see if they deliver a better experience next time.

Overall, while this visit didn’t quite hit the mark for me, I’m willing to give Lupo Verde another shot. The inviting atmosphere and intriguing menu make it worth a second chance for me.

My wife and I went to Lupo Verde for Valentine’s Day 2025, and had the following experience:

Pros:

1. We had a 10pm reservation, we reached the restaurant late around 10:16 and were still seated right away.
2. We were seated in the outside enclosed street patio. They had area heaters that kept us moderately warm on an otherwise very cold night. The atmosphere and vibes were good.
3. The service was good and even at 10pm at night the servers were polite, cheerful, and helpful.

Cons:

At $95 a person, we were expecting quite a nice and otherwise impressive 4 course dinner. What we received was food that you could immediately tell had been out with quantity rather than quality in mind. Between my wife and I we ordered the majority of the pre-fixed Valentine’s Day menu, and I’ll rate each item below.

Antipasta
1. Tuna Carpaccio – 3/5 (average, nothing to note)
2. Fried Artichokes – 2/5 (soggy and under seasoned, the dipping sauce saved it)

Primo
1. Truffle Pasta – 3/5 (good pasta, but way too salty, might be the overabundance of Parmesan but the saltiness overpowered the other flavors)
2. Shrimp Pasta – 2/5 (the flavors were ok but the shrimp was overcooked, and the gigantic tubes of pasta weren’t going the dish any favors in picking up the sauce)

Secondo
1. Branzino – 2/5 (you’d like this dish a lot if you like butter, because that’s all you’ll taste. The Branzino was cooked well, but again just smothered in butter. My wife didn’t even finish hers)

Dolce
1. The giant ferrero rocher – 3/5 (it was a ball of chocolate mouse with a cookie and some ice cream. Incredibly average, nothing to note)

Conclusion:
At no point did we feel it was worth the money at $95 a person. The service and restaurant were great, the only failing was the food. Again, this might just be because we had a 10pm end of service reservation, but the food was just not good.

Had a craving for Italian food and stumbled upon this restaurant on a night out. Absolutely mouthwatering and full of flavor. You can tell a lot of love went into it and it’s made by hand. The one thing I would keep in mind is if you do want a more romantic or intimate experience don’t go on a Friday or Saturday because it was extremely loud, no music but very loud clients and waiters. Service was great too. The garlic bread was super yummy and the gnocchi was the best I’ve had in the US.
