Been enjoying since around 2020… 10/10 every time.

Food & service impeccable. Literally the only place worth picking up my own “carry out” orders from, vs other options that deliver.

Small dining room/bar (bottled beers) also perfect for quick & casual meals, or waiting for your take-away.

Expect patient & helpful but limited staff & counter service. This is a local/family owned and operated business doing everything the right way. I’m grateful it’s part of our local neighborhood.

The food is amazing! Tender, juicy, melt in your mouth meats. Spicy and flavorful homemade hot sauce! (Ask for it! It’s green, full of flavor, and everything you want to spice up your food!). Perfectly cooked soft rice! It’s a well loved small spot with a good amount of tables and counter seats. Very friendly service and food was quick. Cozy and authentic! We will be back!

Decent little hole in the wall type of restaurant. I’ve lived in Jacksonville for years and had no idea this place was here. I got the real Mexican tacos and they were delicious!
We originally got sweet tea, but it tasted a little funky, they were more than happy to swap out for a soda. Everyone working was so nice.
I will be back to try more, thank you!

I gave Lupita’s a 3 instead of a 2 because 1) my daughter liked what she got and 2) the people working there were kind and immediately tended to the issue I had with my order.

While watching Patti’s Mexican Table on PBS, I began to crave Mexican food. So I scrolled through some options not that far and landed on Lupita’s. First thing I noticed on the Google website “Menu” pictures was that a lot of the reviews weren’t that recent. There were good reviews and bad ones, but I wanted to decide for myself.

I ordered 2 of the #15 meals (1 burrito, 1 enchilada, and 1 tamale), and a steak quesadilla meal. First red flag was the menus didn’t have any prices. The prices had white out on them. The second red flag was the 2 combo meals did not come with rice and beans. I had to order them as a separate side item. The third red flag was when I got home, I noticed part of my order was missing. I had to drive back to Lupita’s. I showed them my receipt indicating what I ordered and I showed them the pictures of what I was given. Abuela thought that I ordered the #5. The granddaughter had to tell her no, it was quince (#15). So, after the confusion went away, my missing items were made along with two Chile Relleno stuffed with cheese that I ordered additionally during this return visit.

Over all, the meal I had wasn’t all that. The Chile Relleno was partially if not entirely cooked in the microwave (I actually saw it placed in it). The salsa appeared to be just pureed tomatoes with a few specks of cilantro in it. The rice and beans were bland. It just didn’t hit. And I know this restaurant can do better. I see the potential!

On the plus side, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her quesadilla with steak. It came with rice on the side, lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream.

I had to ask someone to clean the dirty table. She said “where is it dirty”? I said, all over. I had the combo plate. I could not eat the rellano. It was mushy, soggy and greasy. The rest of the meal was good. It’s been two years since I came here. It might be another two years before coming back. Not comfortable, service-naw, timeliness-naw. They used to be my favorite place to dine. I am sad to post this. But, this is my experience.

Lupitas has exactly what you need from a Mexican restaurant. The food is authentic and tasty. They even have take out if you’re feeding a large party.

I lived in Texas for a good portion of my childhood and I had Mexican food at least once a week. I’m very picky when it comes to Mexican food and I’ll only eat it if it’s authentic. With that being said, the food at Lupita’s was amazing. I ordered steak fajitas and as soon as they were delivered to my table, all eyes were on my plate. Someone came in to pick up a to go order and ended up adding steak fajitas to their order because mine looked and smelled so good! The customer service was excellent and the food speaks for itself. I will DEFINITELY be returning!

Food was abundant and tasty. I went to restaurant and ordered to go. The place could be cleaner. Tables with dirty plates from done customers were in place for the whole half and hour I waited for my order.Customer service was okay. I recommend them to clean his place more and make sure tables are clean and ready for customers to come. If customers like hommy, popular Mexican food, this is the place to get it. Would I come back? Maybe, to check for cleaning protocols and get a lot of food for my bucks.

I only gave three stars because while my meal looked good it didn’t taste very good but my husband paid for it anyway. We ended up sharing his meal. There appeared to only be 1 person taking orders and cooking and we had to remind her to bring our drinks. Not the best birthday lunch but not the worst either.

I would have gave them 4 stars, but our steak was over cooked. And, when asked to get it redone. They say no. Because, it would be wasting food. But, they end up throwing it away anyway. I was going to pay for it. I we had a nacho Supreme, and steak, shrimp, chicken fajitas. I will not be back.
