I hadn’t been here in about nine years, and I’m happy to say the things that mattered most haven’t changed. The chips are still thin, crispy, and delicious.

The golden tacos are solid. The beef is finely chopped, which I like, though it could use a bit more seasoning. The shell lands between medium and hard, with just enough give for a slight chew. Portions are generous and prices are not the cheapest in the area. $60 + tip or two to get three tackles with rice and beans a pop chips and rice and a side of stew beef.

The stew beef was incredibly tender, with small chunks of potato. The gravy leaned more toward a thin broth and could have used a little more salt, but the flavor was still comforting.

Seating is limited, so expect a short wait during busy times, and the parking lot can be tricky to navigate. Still, it’s worth it. Service is always fast and friendly, clearly built for a big lunch crowd. You can see the kitchen staff cooking, which adds a welcoming, family-style feel. There’s also a bar area where you can wait for a to-go order.

It may be a little off the beaten path, but whenever I’m on that side of town, it’s always a stop for me.

Great family restaurant. I sat alone and seen the owner talk to a regular my whole meal. It was nice to see. Small town staple. Food was good but not authentic, as far mexican food. Probably food made to there own love and family style.. My 3 star is only based off authenticity, not more. I enjoyed my food but thought lupes was mexican food, but Its more American developed, and not authentic. Great service and good place to eat. Thanks to the staff!

My recent experience at this restaurant was so disappointing. Not only was my order prepared incorrectly, but when I brought it to the owner’s attention, she refused to fix it, charge me the difference, or refund my money. Instead, she told me that “just because you don’t like something, you can’t get your money back,” which was incredibly dismissive and unprofessional.

To make matters worse, after the food was taken back to the kitchen, the owner actually asked the chef to return it to me. The chef replied that he had already thrown it away. The owner said she was going to give me the incorrect food back and someone at my hold eat it. The owner had refused to refund my money and finally succumbed because the chef got frustrated.

I left feeling completely disrespected and disgusted by how little this business values its customers. Mistakes happen — but the lack of accountability and the owner’s attitude were unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I strongly suggest others think twice before spending their money here.

Get the chips and salsa! We happened to arrive at a good time (so we were told) 2:15 pm, not busy. Little seating, dining area is small. We enjoyed the combo meal, servings were plentiful.

Normally I love this place .ordered 4 medium shell tacos but was brought out shells that was not even cooked as if it was straight out of the pack . When asked to remake them we were told by the manager that they will fry the shells and bring them to our table and we can put our fillings in ourselves! She refused to just remake them right . The waitress was very nice and kept apologizing

Food was good ….but portion sizes are small and have to pay for chips and salsa! Pricey for what you get. I will stick to my usual mexican restaurant in swartz creek that gives you more food for the price and gives free chips and salsa!

The food is always fresh and comes out so quick. The staff is friendly and the main server (blanking on her name!) does an amazing job running the floor on her own.
