Been eating at the Lunch House for years. However, I don’t get to that side of town as much as I would like. My family recently had a funeral and afterwards needed a hot meal. I called the Lunch House ahead to make sure they could accommodate us an hour before closing. They were more than happy to serve us. They were very compassionate and made our difficult day a little brighter.
If you’re in the area, treat yourself to a little touch of grandma’s house.
Just had lunch again today. Always a great experience!

Great place for lunch. Multiple selections each day to fit anyone’s pallet. Seating is limited and it can get packed in at times. Come early as they can run out of fan favorites by 3pm.

5+⭐
Family owned and operated for more than a generation. 3 to be precise
Well, I have to admit, we didn’t really know about the “Lunch House.”
A really nice fella named “Reese” told us about this place when we were eating some barbecue at another joint. (Buddy’s)
Let me say, the menu is not overbearing, what they do, they do well, they do inexpensively, and, the flavors are out of this world! Of course, the age of the facility gives it the old timey feel, from the 40s or 50s.
Bathrooms, kitchen, dining rooms, all spotless! Ownership pride and Christian values dictate a fantastic experience, to me anyway. Everybody’s is coming in to Chow down at breakfast and lunch time. Doesn’t matter the persuasion of the individual! Just good food to fill an empty stomach.
I haven’t seen prices like this for about 30 years! So, stop in for not just an experience, but a pallet tickling event, lol!
Really, really good folks!

Just a note. This place does not serve breakfast as indicated on their online menu. I went there and waited for them to open. The gentleman let us in right on time and waited on my party of two politely and promptly. We were eager to try some items on their breakfast menu. We were informed they do not serve breakfast! The lunch menu looked okay, but we decided for another “breakfast ready” restaurant.

So so good. If you are close by at lunch — please give this super local, family owned, place a chance. Lunch was great — and the all-locals vibe just made this seem special. The owner is the nicest…

My husband and I like to find local places when traveling rather than eating at restaurant chains. We decided we wanted sandwiches for lunch and discovered The Lunch House, a family-owned business. Service was quick and we enjoyed our meals – a tuna sandwich and a burger (and sweet tea!). It was obvious that this place is frequented by repeat customers, and it’s obvious why: the staff is friendly, works hard and enjoys what they do. The space reminded us of an old diner and simpler times. Stop in and try the homemade blackberry or peach cobbler! (We arrived 1/2 an hour before closing and were the last ones to leave, hence the empty chairs in my pic.)
