Visited Luna BBQ a couple of weeks ago and honestly, they surprised me—in a good way. The brisket was the star of the show: tender, well-smoked, and packed with flavor without being drowned in sauce. You can tell they know what they’re doing with the meat.
What really stood out, though, was the vibe. It clearly feels like a family-run place, and that shows in the way they treat customers. The owner was welcoming, genuine, and clearly proud of what they’re serving. That kind of personal touch is rare these days and deserves credit.
If you’re looking for solid BBQ with heart behind it—not some overhyped chain—Luna BBQ is worth a stop. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu.

I moved from Florida to San Antonio. I have been to multiple barbecue places here, and people kept telling me about all these places that were so good. I kept going, and they were not. I randomly looked up barbecue today and found this place, and I cannot even begin to explain how good it is. I am so picky with food. And furthermore, a lot of times you see places with high reviews and then can still be let down. I promise you this place has high reviews for a reason. I don’t think I’ll even have enough space to explain everything, but the ribs are the best ribs I’ve ever had. The brisket sandwich is the best brisket sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread is made by them, even the potato I got. I thought that it still would just be like a regular potato with meat. It was not; it was amazing. I had a brownie also; it was really good. Everything I had from them was top-tier. The only one side item that I had that I would say needs just a little bit of work is the seasoned rice; otherwise, this place is so delicious. The customer service is amazing. The inside is very, very clean. They take great pride in what they’re doing, and they sell out quickly for a reason. The hospitality there and the food are both top-tier from the outside. I also wasn’t expecting the inside to be as big as it was, but there’s plenty of seating in there. My only hope is that this place keeps thriving and doing well because as of now, it’s the only barbecue place that I enjoy in San Antonio that I’ve tried. If you’re seeing this review, please, please try the food. If you haven’t, I’m not even kidding. I’ve had brisket at multiple places, and I cannot understand why people even liked it. I had the brisket here, and it was the best I’ve ever had, so much so that the sandwich you see in the picture that I’ve included in a review, I ate all of it, and then I went and bought another sandwich and ate that one as well. My experience was so good that I just sat throughout the day thinking about how well they treated me. People like them really deserve the best, and I’m a very harsh critic. Contrary to this review, but I promise you they do everything right. Can’t wait to go back.

First time here. Saw the 4.9 stars on Google and had to try. OMG, the food was AMAZING. I had the chopped brisket sandwich, the bun was beautifully toasted on both sides. All the sides were delicious! I had the Mac and cheese, it was nice and creamy. My husband had the brisket and sausage with creamed corn and potato salad. He gave me a sample of both his sides and they were both great. I highly recommend this hidden gem!

If you want some excellent, over the top BBQ, look no further. Luna’s BBQ has what you want. I picked up 2 lbs of the lean brisket, could wait to get home to tear it up. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating, bring the family or your entire clan. Service was most excellent. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Check out the pictures.

My fiancé visited Luna’s BBQ & More today and man it was such a great experience! I ordered the 1-meat brisket plate (marbled) with cream corn and potato salad, and my fiancé had the 2-meat plate with ribs and brisket. The brisket was incredibly tender, and the ribs were truly fall-off-the-bone delicious & the sausage was very flavorful. Both sides were legit and paired perfectly with the meal.
The homemade bread was such a great touch—you can really taste the care that goes into it. The restaurant itself is very clean and welcoming, and the owners are some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. My fiancé even got to chat with them, and you can tell how proud they are of their food and their business.
Our go to spot is Reese Bros bbq but Lunas is now being added to the bbq list, yall should definitely go out and give them a try!

Family owned and some of the best BBQ my family has had in San Antonio! The food and sides were all meticulously prepared and the service was fast. The staff was very kind to my 4 year old and made his day. Definitely worth a visit if you are on this side of town!
