We tried Luna Thai & Sushi Restaurant recently, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The sushi and Tom Kha soup were absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, the rest of the main course (Drunken Noodles, Basil Fried Rice, and Green Curry) didn’t quite hit the mark. The flavors felt a bit flat compared to other Thai spots we’ve been to.
Service-wise, it could definitely improve — we had to repeatedly call the server just to get plates and serving spoons, which made the dining experience less enjoyable.
Overall, Luna has potential with its sushi and appetizers, but the service and main dishes could use a little more attention to detail.

I had the Beef Pho, Pad Thai, and some sashimi — everything was delicious! The sashimi was super fresh, and the Pad Thai was full of flavor. For dessert, the heart-shaped mango sticky rice was so cute and tasty! Loved this place!

Dropped by Luma for dinner after leaving grandfather mountain. It was around 430pm, made no reservations and were seated quickly and our order was taken just as quick. We ordered 6piece fried gyoza, fried calamari a Philly roll, drunken noodles, masaman curry and boneless fried duck.
Pros: service was quick until they started getting the dinner rush.
Cons: the calamari was over fried and hard. The curry and the drunken noodle dish was way too sweet. I am not sire of its always served this way or the chef messed up. It was good. But not edible. There were no chillies in the dishes especially the noodle dish and no one asked about the expected spice level. There was zero. I believe had the noodle dish had some heat it may have balanced put the sweetness. The friend duck dish was good! Very, very small serving of duck. They give lots of veggies, which I assume is to distract from the miniscule protein in the dishes. There were big chunks of potato and carrots in the curry dish that was under cooked. I can eat a semi hard carrot but not a potato. We waited almost 30 minutes to signal someone for the check.
Would consider visiting again to try the sushi and maybe give directions on the dishes.

Service is top notch; host, servers friendly and attentive.
The food is very good; presentation is beautiful, taste is fantastic, the quality is 5/5, temperature of main entrée (hot entrée) 4/5.
Atmosphere is nice, pleasant. The restaurant is clean, air temperature is perfect. The fish tank however, is a different story and appears to be in dire need of cleaning. It is terribly cloudy, opaque.

Bad service! Very disappointed with the service at Luna Thai Restaurant. The staff did not seem happy to serve us at all. No one checked on our table or asked if we needed anything during the meal. We had to call another staff member just to get basic items like a straw, chopsticks, and bowls. Our server never came back to assist us.
We were a group of 5 adults and my 2-year-old daughter, who did not eat or drink anything. However, they counted her as the 6th person and automatically charged a large group tip. It felt unfair, especially since we received almost no service.
The food may be okay, but the customer service was very poor. I would not return because of this experience.

Don’t hate me!!. I love the vibes and service was great despite the waiting time. It’s just that Thai food was not good. I understand it was made for Americans taste so if you are looking for an authentic Thai food, this is not for you. But if you are looking to experience Thai food just so you are familiar with the name and ingredients, this isn’t the bad way to go.

We come here each year in our annual skiing trip. Love everything about it. I can’t guarantee it will be the same for you, but just an example of what type of business and how it’s run; I have never seen cleaner glasses at a restaurant. If something as small as clean glasses leaves an impression, then just think about the impressiveness of the big details. Delicious food (watch out it can get insanely spicy) but so much flavor. I highly recommend the plum wine! The ambience is carpeted so the sound doesn’t bounce across the floors and ceiling (you can actually hear each other talking in a calm tone). We look forward to next year!

It was good. There are a lot of options on the menu and it was surprising how many choices they had given it’s a relatively small restaurant. The good was good for sure, I don’t feel like it was excellent-must-go-back-again level but if you want sushi or Thai food and you’re in the area, this will definitely fit the bill. Service was really good and it wasn’t too busy when we went on a Sat night (but recent winter storm may have contributed to fewer people than usual).

Will absolutely be going back here. Went for a little drive into Linville, and this restaurant seemed like a good stop for dinner.
This might be my favorite Asian cuisine I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely killer sushi and pad Thai, everything was insanely delicious.
Wait staff was super super friendly and attentive, as soon as our drinks were low they were there to fill them, as soon as we had cleaned a plate they were there to take them. Stellar service.
I live about an hour away from this restaurant, but I promise I will be going back often.
