Incredible experience!
Every plate at this restaurant was a standout. They cook everything over an open fire and honor Anthony Bourdain’s spirit—big kudos for that concept.
We tried a variety of dishes from the menu, and each one was delicious and creatively executed. The mezcal the server recommended was a total hit. Service from the entire crew was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and bilingual (though a little extra Spanish practice would be welcome).
We were truly fascinated. If we ever return to Cabo San José, we’ll definitely come back here.
100 % recommended!

I had the tasting menu, and every course hit the right notes. Really great to see some interesting ingredients used that I haven’t come across before and all producing wonderful flavours. The staff were superb and I managed to speak with the head chef who was great and took the time to talk me through the courses and the restaurant. If I am ever back on this part of the world, I will return.

Glad we walked by. It was an experience not to be forgotten. We enjoy good food and a good cocktail wine pairing makes it even better. Employees friendly and knowledgeable. Chef owner greeted many in restaurant. Made it feel like eating at family gathering.

Amazing dining experience. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The flavors were beautiful and inventive. We had the charrred house bread, the pork bao bun-like tacos, and the sea bass. The sea bass has an incredible sauce and was tender and some of the best fish I’ve tasted. Not your usual upscale meal.

What can I say about this amazing restaurant?! The food, service, and atmosphere were impeccable. From start to finish, each of the 7 courses was packed with flavor and beautifully calculated culinary concept. The most simple yet delicate dessert brought me to tears in memory of my childhood with my departed grandmother. It was truly one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had in my life.

Amazing food!!! They had a tasting menu option but we ordered our own a la carte items to share. All of the fish was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The bartender is extremely knowledgeable and our drinks were great. The beet salad was one of the best I’ve ever had. Restaurant has a nice but super dim lighting vibe (I enjoyed it, but you do need a flashlight to read the menu!)

Lumbre was truly incredible. All of the staff, from the hostesses to the servers to the general manger were all so nice and attentive. We mentioned to the hostess that we were having a baby and she arranged a special dessert for us, so thoughtful. The food was also incredible. Highly recommend the crème brûlée donut dessert, one of the best desserts l’ve ever had!

We visited Lumbre to celebrate my birthday after reading great reviews and the chef’s resume. The staff was amazing and the night started on a good note. From the host to the servers, everyone was polite and knowledgeable. The problem was the food. While my husband’s tuna was amazing, so delicate and delicious, the octopus I ordered was impossible to eat. The components around it were really good and I really wished the octopus was as well. It was very chewy and I had to stop eating it after the second bite. I was very disapointed. The mariscos restaurant around the corner that does not charge that much does a better job at cooking octopus. They took the charge of the bill, but it really ruined the experience for me

Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every single bite of the tasting menu was OUTSTANDING. The thoughtfulness and finesse behind preparing each dish was truly exquisite. The chef and team behind this restaurant are incredibly talented. I cannot recommend Lumbre enough. If you’re wondering where to go for a special meal, think no further and come here.

Lumbre was a fantastic dining experience for the whole family! Located a few minutes walk from the local centre plaza of San Jose Del Cabo, the restaurant is perfectly placed as a dinner option after a day of sightseeing, beach-going or shopping in the artistic district. The aesthetic is very much a contemporary feel with dark tones and metal adornments.
The service was very good. The hostesses are well-mannered and kind, and the servers are very knowledgeable about the menu. They were excellent at navigating a nut allergy at the table, explaining what alterations could be made to accommodate but maintain the taste profiles. We really appreciated their attentiveness on this front.
The food was absolutely delicious. The complimentary bone marrow butter was artistically presented and really got the gastric juices primed for what was to come! The ash tempura shrimp was bursting with flavour – seriously impressive! Both salad options, heirloom tomato and roasted kale, were great. The kale salad was airy and light, and with the burrata cheese made a great dish. For the entrees, we had the pork belly (great), the roasted chicken (slightly dry but great flavour with the sauce), the steak and octopus (great). Of special mention was the ramen dish, which had seriously great flavour. Personally, I felt the steak in the ramen was better than the standalone steak dish. There were so many sauces to enhance the flavour, you wish you could have more cuts of meat to try each one more than once.
We wrapped with the doughnut stuffed with flan and, oh man, this was amazing! Highly, highly recommend to wrap up the meal! Overall, this was a great dining experience with kind people and a wonderful location. Great time!
