Used to love the restaurant, came after new owner and had bad experience with extremely slow service and mediocre food. Waited over a year to come back but unfortunately not any better. Party of four, had reservations, took 30 min before waitress could come over so we gave her drink and food orders as not to further delay. She was very nice and excellent memory of specials, beer on tap, just too many tables for one person. We walked over and filled our own water, salad bar was good, soups werent the best, got seafood supreme, not one piece of seafood in mine, very thick. Others got the chicken noodle but the spinach or something salty had weird taste so they didn’t eat. Drinks took another 30min then we noticed some people got rolls and butter, we didn’t. Food came about 15 more minutes after drinks.
Two of us had the seafood broil, was to come with clams casino, fish, shrimp scallops and stuffed mushrooms. Both of ours were cold, didn’t get claims casino, got these tiny claims, so small Ive never seen before, also had sand in 3 of them. Picture below of the clam compared to lemon wedge
Son got strip steak, very chewey, only could eat about half since so tough. Never opportunity to order more drinks, took us two hours from start to finish, with no delay on our part, (as fast as we could eat and leave after check).
Would benefit from more staff and higher quality food for price.

A great night out during the holiday break. Very accommodating even as we sat close to their closing time. We appreciated the attentive service and great food.

Yesterday for late lunch/early dinner we went to the Lumberyard located near Letchworth State Park. Our waitress was very attentive. She was friendly, knew the specials off the top of her head (including price), made suggestions and was quick to refilling our beverages. I opted for the Chicken French which was a very tender large portion of chicken cooked in egg with avocado hearts and sherry. This came with soup and salad bar. The salad bar was fresh not frozen lettuce and cucumbers. It had homemade macaroni and potato salad instead of the store bought stuff. The only negative thing I would say about the salad bar is the french dressing did taste like something out of a bottle. I tried the black bean chili that tasted like an upscale chili mixed with stew. It was delicious!
The bathroom was clean and easy to access.
I felt for lunch it was a little pricey but everything (with the exception of the French dressing at the salad bar) tasted homemade & prepared by a chef that knew what he/she was doing. I hope they redo menus or make some new ones as ours were ripped and had a few stains on them. Which I noticed when we were here a year ago as well.

We stopped in on our way back to Buffalo and I have to say we had an amazing experience. Our waitress Ashlee was very friendly. The restaurant and bathrooms were spotless. Our food was incredible. I got the seafood linguine which was loaded with seafood. My boyfriend got the Philly cheesesteak burger which was huge. The soup and salad bar was fresh with lots of choices. When we come back out this way again, we will definitely revisit.

Overpriced food and had no flavor. The atmosphere was cute, the service was great, food was trash. We had prime rib, the seafood platter plus lobster tail which alone was almost $30, and a cheeseburger. The best part was our dinner twice baked potato. Everything else was not edible and no flavor or spices at all. $205 was with tip added and that’s what we paid for me, my husband and 3 year old. I dont recommend.

My husband and I were on our way home and decided spur of the moment to stop here to eat. My broiled haddock was very good and I enjoyed the salad bar as did my husband. He was not thrilled with his steak however. He said the au jus sauce was too buttery and salty. The waitress was very good and very friendly. The restaurant is very cute and was very clean.

Prices of everything where way over priced. Expected to atleast be able to buy a reasonable meal but not for the working class. Did buy drinks and they ended up getting the wrong beer HOW. Bought 5 total drinks for 21.50 around but the prices and what to drink was not on menu either. Surprised took to long for a bill on them drinks also.

Always came here for new years eve over 5+ years food was always amazing. Couldn’t make it this year but went on weekend instead. I ordered the seafood platter and it was really a disappointment everything was overcooked and they seem to have downsized what used to come on it. For the price it was not worth it feels like a ripoff now. Seems like new owners are changing things and it’s not in a good way.

We went for a early dinner on a Saturday around 5pm. Good thing we did. This place must be the local favorite. It got full fast. I honestly know why. Excellent American food. It all was deliciously scrumptious. From the prime rib to the twice baked loaded potato to the chicken wings to the cosmopolitan. The French onion soup was perfect. It was my personal favorite of the night. But it all held its own. Extremely friendly staff. The waitress was super great.
Thanks Hawley’s We will be back when we are in the area.

Staying in this town for my honeymoon and decided to try out this place with my husband who has come here as a child. Firstly we were much appreciative that they got us in earlier than our original reservation time slot. Our waitress and other staff were very friendly and did their jobs very well and efficiently. The food on the other hand was not worth nearly as much as we paid for it. The food did come out in a timely manner…For an appetizer we got lumberyard chips which were chips with melted shredded cheese a few slices of onion and tomatoes for 14$. Dinner was artichoke chicken French which was served in an oily brown sauce that tasted similar to Marsala sauce. The chicken was cooked fine but definitely not chicken French. The other meal was garlic parm scallops that were drenched in a seemingly bottled butter sauce. In total our bill was over 100$ and it’s very hard for me to justify spending that much money on food that poor. Understandably there are not many places to go in this area and we were hoping for a nice dinner as a treat but other reviews and past experiences definitely deceived us.
