Super cool building and the Chicken Shack in Arcadia never disappoints but the food was less thab desirable in Harrah. It was all over cooked. The Mac and cheese looked like it had been setting out all day. Our food took over 30 minute to get and it was a burger and a whole bird. There was maybe 4 tables including ours. The whole bird had no seasoning and so dry and crispy (burnt). For $67 I expected better food. Dont waste your money.

This place is great… when it’s not busy. The food is absolutely wonderful! Get the green beans! 10/10. Our waitresses was wonderful and sweet. Very attentive. The sweet tea was perfection! The restaurant itself is exactly what the name implies. But it’s fun. The chicken is aaaahhhhh-mazing! Sometimes they host events here and it gets crazy crowded, and that’s not for me. But other times it’s fabulous. The parking is a bit odd. You have to park across the street and cross Tim Holt. During the events the parking is absolutely bananas. Good food, nice people.

2.5 stars. I’ve been here 3 times now. every time is about the same. This place really has so much potential but is quite poorly managed.

They are perpetually understaffed, today one (very nice) woman was the only one in. Obviously, this resulted in super slow service, not her fault. We refilled our own drinks and got our own paper towels from elsewhere when we ran out.

Why did we run out of paper towels? Because there’s no dishware. No plates, no cups, no silverware. Styrofoam cups they brought to us filled but never once refilled or offered, and family style food we had to eat straight off the platters. Honestly, that’s ridiculous. And it’s not the first time, so I know it wasn’t the result of the one woman ops.

Wings are on the dry side, which is how my family prefers them. They are meaty, great sized wings. The special today was 24 wings for $20. Our family ordered 3 platters, so for those keeping score at home that’s 72 wings, and we requested the sauce on the side because we do prefer those dryer wings. They gave us laughably little sauce. One tiny cup of almost every flavor we ordered and 4 small ranch dips. After she brought us everything and asked if we needed anything else, I said “the rest of the sauce” and she said she brought it all. So I had to request more, and point out that 2-3 tablespoons of sauce wasn’t realistic.

I get pinching pennies as a business. As a business professional myself, budget is important. But in the service industry this is wild, there still needs to be the *service*.

Menu notes: food prices are fair in my opinion, alcohol runs on the higher side. They could use ANY fresh options.

Hopefully management turns this place around. It deserves the time and care, like I said, it has a lot of potential.

Came here for a barely out of town treat and got a server named Cat, she was a wonderful waitress and I felt right at home with my specific food requests and sweet tea refills!! The food was INCREDIBLE, fries are more then worth the trip alone, not to mention the delicious burger and very yummy ranch. The service was homely without being overwhelming. And the country music left me feeling like a was a family 4th of July party just before the sunset. Amazing service from Cat and amazing food from the cooks. And the new banana pudding was INCREDIBLE !!!! WORTH COMING BACK !!

Food is good and waitstaff once they are able to get to you are friendly. The manager frequently understaffs especially on weekends and the. Has to call in staff. Every time I have been there with a large group from baseball and softball tournaments, it has take 30-40 minutes just to get staff to the table. Most of the time the bartender is by themself with a large bar full of people. The staffing issues and long wait times really make it less than desirable.

First time here I was a party of three, nice vintage place has a bar I seen some pool tables and some sitting outside. Looked promising, it was a seat yourself I cleaned the table with a paper towel it they must have had a morning rush it was after noon when we arrived waitress came got our drink order and we placed our lunch order which was a patty melt (the daily special) hamburger with cheese and a chicken sandwich, fried green beans as an appetizer. Waitress came back with our tea and soda and a water waited a min for the beer. Shortly after the appetizer came out we ate that ran out of drinks waited 10-15 mins for drink refills. About 45 min waiting for our meals waitress said she will go find out what’s going on with the food she doesn’t come back promptly but about 5 mins later she said there’s one more order in front of your then yours will be out so we are thinking okay we’re hungry and our food will be nice and hot.. An hour of waiting our food finally arrives but everything is cold. I’m not talking about cold like it sat there a little bit then they decided to bring out the food it was cold like it was sitting out for an hour not even under the heat lamps. The patty melt was so hard on one side like they kept it on the grill while everything else was cooking. I’m not saying everything else as what’s on my ticket but everyone else’s ticket.. so to sum it up awful service and worst food experience so unless you want to wait an hour for cold food I don’t recommend eating here.

We were exploring the area and stopped for lunch recently on a Sunday afternoon. This is a very large venue that seems to be very popular for locals and events. We ordered their chicken (of course) and sides of fried okra and baked beans. Our fried okra was a bit over cooked but still edible. The beans were yummy as was the chicken! The chicken was freshly fried, crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside.
The ambience is very casual and has a nice location across from a park which is under construction. Inside there are TVs and music under a kitschy decor.
The only negative were the restrooms. The door on one did not close without a strong couple of tugs. They’re VERY rustic. While I understand the ‘vibe’ being created in the restaurant as a whole, a good, private restroom space is always a plus.

I go there every Thursday with my family for singo and some amazing food. The staff are always nice and they have great service. The vibe there isn’t like any other restaurant I’ve been to. You feel like you can do really what ever. They manage it very well and I love playing pool with my dad. Lumber shack is just over all the best place to eat some fried chicken

So I have been wanting to try the Chicken Shack for a long time. Yesterday we made it and I am not going back to this location. When we got home to eat the chicken it was like it had been first of all cooked for while and then sitting under a heat lamp. It was very dry and tasted nothing like the “broasted” chicken I was looking forward to. It was quite a disappointment and the price was not cheap – $35 for a whole chicken and two small sides. Maybe it is just this location but hopefully they can do better.

Wish there was more I could write, however on a Saturday night around 930pm when tables were basically empty, no one ever came to serve us or anything. A brief acknowledgement to sit anywhere, fast forward about 15-20min and no contact or anything, meanwhile servers standing around watching us leave. Overall atmosphere seemed cool, but I can see where some of the bad reviews are coming from if this is the standard. Maybe ill change this if I attempt to come back.
