Staff was friendly. Food didn’t taste authentic at all but, it was nice and hot.Food needed seasoing and fried longer for golden brown color. I have yet to taste good Puerto Rican food in Indiana locally. I will continue travel to Chicago because it’s worth the drive always!

Lumar Taste is a hidden gem for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine! I had the steak jibarito with arroz con gandules, along with an alcapurria, and everything was absolutely delicious. The jibarito was perfectly crispy, the steak was tender, and the garlic sauce took it to the next level—so flavorful! The arroz con gandules had that perfect homemade taste, and the alcapurria was spot-on.

I used to drive all the way to Chicago for good Puerto Rican food, but I’m so happy I found this place. If you’re looking for amazing, authentic flavors, I highly recommend Lumar Taste!

Stopped here today on a whim and am not disappointed!
My food was DELICIOUS, fragrant, and still warm when I made the long drive home! They were also very nice and didn’t make me feel rushed at all. Will definitely be back! (I’d already eaten the plantains that came with the meal on the drive home lol)

I happen to run across this place by happenstance. Excited to say the least as there isn’t many options for authentic Puerto Rican food here in Indiana. The hours are short, but understandable, just need to work around it. As the granddaughter of the creator of the Jibarito sandwich, I am very particular and critical over how other make them, but surprisingly enough Lumar’s Taste is on to something. Very good taste, size and overall an excellent sandwich. The morilla is on point, next time I’ll order a lb. That 1/2lb.left me wanting more if you know, you know! Also, the potato salad was a smack, overall pleased. I’ll be back soon as I want to try more options, thank you Lumar’s for reminding me what home taste like. Wish we could bottle the smells. ❤️

Jibarito meal is soo good. Service was fast and hot! I didn’t know they closed at 6pm. Kinda feel bad to order when an establishment closes soon. I thought they closed at 7pm. None the less, the food was amazing!! Keep up the good work!

Really good food. I ordered a couple of different dishes to try and everything was delicious and so flavorful! I enjoyed it all but my favorite was the Beef Pastelillo! Made to perfection. In fact, I’m going back shortly to order more. I ordered the Pork Pasteles Dinner, 2 Steak Tacos, & A Beef Pastelillos, and all together I paid just under $23. The price is not bad at all for all the food I got. Try them out!! You won’t be disappointed.

Delicious, homemade Puerto Rican/Mexican/American food!! Very good portion size. Welcoming and friendly customer service. Would highly recommend.
Tip: They are getting pretty popular, so best to call ahead your order or go early!

I visited this place July 3rd while doing DoorDash. They were busy and the order wasn’t ready yet. So we sat inside to wait for the order. After a few minutes of waiting one of the ladies in the back thanked us for waiting and asked if we wanted to try a (word I’m not familiar with) on the house for waiting. I thanked her and said sure while having zero idea what I was offered. The place smelled delicious and they were super busy so I assumed it would be delicious.

This lady handed me two of the most delicious meat pies I’ve ever had in my life. One chicken and one beef. Both absolutely amazing. The beef was my favorite but I would have either and not be disappointed at all. Plus they served it with a little cup of green sauce. I wanted to pour it into my mouth it was so dang tasty.

I’ve wanted to return to this spot since that day. It’s worth it if you’re thinking about trying this place. I don’t live nearby if I did I would become a regular.
