Went to this location because the town and country one was closed. I ordered the same thing I always do, but the burrito did not come with the correct rice (which I explicitly chose traditional red because I hate cilantro) and it didn’t have cheese. My husband also got the wrong rice despite ordering a super burrito which usually comes with red rice automatically. Lulu’s really screwed up removing the vegetarian burrito option and this location clearly doesn’t actually even look at the options the customer selects. Won’t be coming back. It’s a real shame that they can’t take the two minutes to look at the order.
They had a decent portion size. The food was decent; it had good flavor. It was good, but it wasn’t that memorable. I had the Carnitas Plate (this is the dish I get at every Mexican restaurant I first try). I did like the chips they had; the portion was a little lacking on the chips. it was still good though. I wouldn’t mind coming back if it was convenient, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come for the food. It was just okay for me.
I’m updating that. The restaurant manager and owner both wrote to me to apologize and to offer me a refund. The owner promised to make clear to the staff that “fish” does not mean “shrimp,” and to caution employees to be careful regarding allergies to shrimp.
I won’t return to this restaurant, but for the years I did eat here and at its Palo Alto and Los Altos branches I thought the food was pretty good. Anyway, if you have allergies take extra care to clarify them with the staff and be sure they understand.
An updated Mexican menu including small and large salads: fresh red leaf lettuce, avocado, tomato, cotija cheese, fried tortilla strips and toasted pepitas — tossed in creamy cilantro dressing.
Enjoy the meal in the sun with ample patio seating.
I told the cashier that the soups weren’t good and he said he’s sorry and he’d tell the chef. But he should’ve really give us our money back. We didn’t even eat it and for lunch for two people is $58. Guac, chips and soup!!! Not worth it and not coming back.
There are so many other Mexican food restaurants I don’t know how they can afford to have bad food.
I waited patiently for my order.
Other customers came in after wards and placed their orders and about 3-4 customers got their food served on a plate before I did. There were 4 woman working at the food bar by the way. It took a while for someone to tell me that my order was coming up. By that time it was almost 13min. After 15min of waiting and watching everyone else get their food first, they finally brought up my order. I really waited there 15min for them to pour soup in a small cup. $10 each. Rip off and a waste of my time. They didn’t even apologize for the long wait or anything. Spoiler: the pozole was tasteless even after putting all the fixings and 4 lime wedges.
