There was some confusion at checkin, as it is of the utmost importance to get a reservation, and my name wasnt on the list, but the host was cool enough to get us a table for 8 as requested on Resy.
Servers were all fit 25 years old and below. All were friendly and hospitable.
I didnt like the atmosphere. Outdoor only no AC. The ceiling fans were on full blast making my kid cold.
The food arrived quickly. It was aight. Really nothing special. Totally not worth spending the amount of money based on high ratings. I wasnt wowed with any of the dishes. My breakfast burrito was basic. I give it a C.
Wife had a breakfast sandwich. C-. Bread was tough. Bacon was over cooked.
Our bill was over $200, plus we gave a 20% tip.
In the end, my hopes of having the most awesomest breakfast for my inlaws fell way short.
As for the drinks, they are overly sweet.
For service, it was really busy, so it was hard to call attention to the waitress for anything. But the food and drink came out relatively fast.
Overall, not really worth the price and wouldn’t recommend as a good bunch place to anyone.
The “BLAT” (bacon lettuce avocado tomato) sandwich was also mediocre. The sourdough was toasted way too hard, soaked in butter and just kept falling apart. I expected a place like this to be a bit more light and fresh since we checked out the menu online before coming. Even the green drink I ordered was overly sweet. My partner had the steak and eggs which also had no seasoning and was an overall unsatisfactory meal experience.
If you’re looking for something healthy and delicious, I would not recommend this place.
I want to start by saying this is absolutely not meant to bash the restaurant. I come here often and genuinely enjoy it. The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is one of the reasons I keep coming back, and in the past the staff has always been warm and welcoming.
Last night, however, my experience was very different.
I came in with a friend and we were assigned a young server who appeared visibly irritated from the moment we sat down. Throughout the evening she seemed annoyed to be there, responded to simple questions with attitude, and at times made the table feel uncomfortable. We were polite and low maintenance, so the interaction felt a bit confusing and honestly awkward.
I work in a client facing business myself, so I completely understand people have off days. I have plenty of them too. But in hospitality, the energy of the person representing the restaurant matters a lot, and this particular experience unfortunately stood out in a negative way and I felt compelled to leave a review because it was so negative.
Again, I really enjoy this restaurant and plan to keep coming. I’m only sharing this because I’d want to know if it were my business. I hope management can address it, because the overall experience here is usually excellent and I’d hate for one staff interaction to affect what is otherwise a really great spot.
Very cool space in Pineapple Grove. Sat at bar and service was a bit spotty. One bartender was great! Only tried the bowls which are hit and miss. Go for the teriyaki chicken bowl which is a huge hit! Will be back to explore the food more.
