Arrived at 2 PM. Ordered a two meat plate chicken and sausage. They were out of dark meat. Accepted the breast and wing. Big mistake. It was super tough and dry. The sausage seemed to be grilled on one side only. We went back in to see if they would swap out the chicken and they said flat out NO. As you can see from the picture I only picked at it once and determined it was not good at all. My husband ordered a brisket sandwich. He asked for lean and it was super DRY! Ive never been to a restaurant where they don’t try to make it right! Very disappointed. Next time I’ll wait in line at city market. Oh yes the beans were good ♀️

Stopped here whole traveling through. (*FYI-It was only bbq, didn’t see anything about a “kitchen” option with burgers and fish, etc. that are in some reviews or menus.) ok for us because I wanted bbq. Polite and helpful staff. Fair prices and great servings. As far as a review on what we ate: I agree with other reviews that the scalloped potatoes were the bomb! Mac and cheese normal yummy. Coleslaw is a creamy (but not too much) crunchy vs. tangy vinegar style. Brisket was wonderful-nice crust on the edges, most, and great flavor. Sausage was good tasting with a little tang and bite to it but tolerable flavorful spicy. Ribs were too salty in my opinion but feel off nicely … Wouldn’t order ribs again honestly. Upon request you can get slices of bread, onions, and slices dill pickles. Heads up- only one bbq sauce that has a mustard flavored bar. I liked it but putting it on here in case you don’t.I got a slice of chocolate meringue pie…. Fair price but I didn’t like the pie. Very rare for me. The meringue had good flavor but no slight crunch to the top and the chocolate flavor didn’t taste good to me (so much so that I didn’t even finish it). Had other sides and flavors available for dessert options. Fountain drinks and sweet/unsweet tea. I didn’t pay attention if they had bottled drinks like mentioned on menu and pictures for business.

Frankly, I had higher expectations. The brisket plate is a 1/2 lbs of meat, 2 huge servings of sides. The brisket was fully cooked and tender but I didn’t taste the smoke, the Au Gratin potatoes lacked flavor, and the BBQ sause is a vinegary blend that just wasn’t for me. The restaurant is clean, spacious and offers outdoor dining. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I will come back again and try something else when we are in the area.

Visited Luling bbq on January 31st. I had the 3 meat plate with ribs, brisket and spicy sausage.
The food was fresh as the store had just opened.
The food was good.
The only think I could have been better was for the brisket to be a little more marbled.
But other than that, I enjoyed it.
For the meal, I paid $22.

By far the best dry rub Bar-B-Que I’ve ever had and I’ve made a BBQ “trip” going from Branson, St. Louis, Kansas City, Tulsa, Oklahoma City. I LOVED the burnt ends!!! If you’re traveling between San Antonio and Houston – or going south from Austin, I strongly encourage you to try their food. Their side dishes and desserts are homemade and very good as well.

My husband and I shared a 3 meat plate the portions were plentiful! Friendly service., clean cowboy atmosphere and the star, was the great Texas Bar B Q Mesquite flavors with a side of mustard potatoes salad and good ol’ pinto beans.

The BBQ is great. While driving back and forth from Houston to San Antonio we always try to time the trip to make it a pit stop. Can’t go wrong with any order. Me and the wife usually do chopped beef sandwiches with basic sides. The BBQ gets a 5, sides eh, like 3/4. They’re sides, you have to keep the expectations realistic.

Owners were great ver nice but the Q experience was lacking. The ribs were extremely dry and a little over salted. Brisket was pretty good but lacked smoke. Sausage mediocre. The pinto beans didn’t have any flavor. I think they were just poured into the heater out of a can which is fine if you want to take a shortcut but at least add some onions, jalapeños and seasoning

The brisket was so tender and flavorful (lil too much fat); love the broccoli salad, potato salad was pretty good. fast friendly service. It looks small but there are lots of places to sit, even outdoor setting. I plan to return and try other items! Reasonable prices and large servings.
