First time visitors (from Alameda) last Saturday afternoon. We spontaneously stopped at Lula’s after a wonderful adventure day!
What a delightful gem! No “big box” here! The People are wonderful! Staff delightful! Facility is super clean. Service personable and PDQ. Price is exceptionally reasonable for calibur and quality of product. My husband asked me if he was in Heaven! I could see his fangs griwing as his burger arrived. BURGERS?? handmade with tons of deliciousness, pride, attention to details and love! Perfectly seasoned hand pressed patties, cooked crispy sear out, juicy in, served on a soft, fresh bun with all the traditional fresh veg condiments. The fries/chips were perfectly sized, super fresh and piping hot. Our charming wait staff person brought us a whole large squeeze bottle of ketsup too! When ordering, I asked about the fried green beans. Response? “They are fried. Green beans. They are very good. Try them” WORD! We did try them. The green beans, which were, sizzling hot fresh from the fryer were SLAMMIN GOOD! We ate outside with our 32# frenchie. Ordered him 3 puppy patties. They were big, juicy, hot off the grill. Our little guy hoovered the better part of three of ’em up, happily smacking his chops all along the journey! We eagerly look forward to our next visit soon! THANKS TO EVERYONE AT LULA’S Great job!

I finally took a drive to Empire to try this place out. Everything looked good. I decided to get their tri-tip sandwich. The sandwich had great flavors. It has bar-b-q sauce that actually tastes really good. I ordered large fries and a large drink. For my beverage I had a Diet Pepsi. I recommend coming here. The prices are really reasonable.

While I was running errands in Hughson, I decided to find a spot to eat. I stopped at a small spot called Lula’s. It reminded me of a local spot in Escalon, so I thought I’d give it a try. It was still kinda early in the day, so I felt a little guilty about ordering a cheeseburger. I got the single Bacon Cheeseburger. The three people working inside were very welcoming and polite! It felt like I walked into a friend’s home to have a meal! I ordered to go because I had a little drive ahead of me. The burger did not disappoint. A fresh hand formed patty that was way bigger than I expected, thick cut bacon, and the perfect ratio of meat and veggies. The lettuce, pickles, tomato, and red onion were all very fresh and complimented the meat perfectly! The burger was cooked to perfection and the bacon had the right amount of crisp. The fries were hot and crispy. I will definitely come back next time I’m in the area. It is a small shop but very clean, with some neat decor. I have included photos of the inside of the restaurant and my burger.

I’m counting Modesto, too, when I say this is probably one of the best burger spots in the area. They serve up some delicious food: fresh ingredients, fresh off the grill. To top it all off, the price is right and the staff are incredibly kind.
I got the Stuffed Double Cheese Jalapeno Burger and it was as amazing as it sounds. Freshly sliced jalapenos, crisp veggies, and a whole lot of cheese. Just amazing stuff. Can’t wait to go back.

I don’t know how I lived in modesto for 7 years and have never been or heard of this place!!! The hamburgers are freaking juicy and super flavorful, the homemade potato salad was soooooo good! The owner is so nice and wonderful, this is why the food is great!

My husband and I had heard good things about this restaurant, so we paid Lula’s a visit this week. We decided to sample a few menu items, and found everything to be very tasty… (so much so that I forgot to take pictures of what we ordered ♀️)… and the prices are very reasonable. Most entrees are under $10, and most sides are under $4.
The Black and Bleu Salad is delicious, made with lots of shredded tri-tip, lettuce, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, and ranch dressing.
We ordered mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers (stuffed with cream cheese and breaded/deep fried), which were good, but the real treat was the deep fried mushrooms. Not too many places served batter-dipped/deep fried mushrooms.
We also were shocked to find that Lula’s deserts are under $2. We ordered a piece of Baklava and a slice of chocolate cake, each for $1.99. Delicious. We’ll be back.

This is hands down the best place to eat. Super affordable, excellent service, delicious home made food I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Literally has become the spot I crave. The Baklava is AMAZING. Bomb every time. Couldn’t even wait to eat to take a picture.
