The food was great. I had a big bourbon chicken with baked potato and green beans. I I want to say it was $12.95.
It was full of locals everybody was friendly everybody know each other. That’s always a good sign.
I would definitely go back if I was here again.

We had a such a great experience at Luke’s Bar & Grill in downtown Altamont. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was clean with a fun atmosphere inside. All the staff at the restaurant were super friendly and efficient. Our food was very delicious and reasonably priced. You have to try the Piggy Pork Pile when you visit this restaurant. It is a bed of fries, covered in cheese sauce with pulled pork on top with bbq sauce and fried jalapeños! Another restaurant crossed off the bucket list!

I had the pulled pork with house chips. They were both great. The house chips were still warm and lightly salted, not bland like some places. Definitely recommend this sandwich and this establishment!

This is a very hard place to rate. We found it on Google Maps and stopped in because of the good reviews. It felt more like a local bar than one that gets a lot of highway traffic and we really felt like outsiders. The grilled cheese sandwich was delicious though.

Passing by on our way to St. Louis (road trip)… certainly no expectations from the outside, but inside is another story. Nice little tavern with good food and friendly, helpful bar keep/waitress. Pub chips are excellent! Stop by if you have the opportunity

We really wanted a pork tenderloin sandwich and in reading reviews we found this bar on our way home from Florida, we drove about an hour or so out of our way and we were not disappointed!! We were greeted into a warm and friendly bar with a great Hometown bar atmosphere. After we got to make fun of the bartender for a little while and get a cocktail we were treated to 1 of the best pork tenderloin sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life! I do not say that lightly, probably the best. The toasted ravioli was very good and onion rings were a bit outstanding too, And the tomato basil ranch dip really set the rings on fire! French fries were good but the sandwich was definitely the star of the show. No I just have to figure out more ways to drive that way so we can enjoy that sandwich again, hopefully our family band can play at the whistle stop just eat next door. Thank you We will be back

Small Midwestern restaurant’s are usually a good bet. This particular one is amazing! We were traveling through, found this restaurants and we were not disappointed at all. The food was fresh, very tasty, and priced right. Tha atmosphere was a blast. I walk in and was asked if I was “Shawn” because we had placed an online order. Every one greeted me, even patrons. When I left, I got about 20 “by shawn, it was nice meeting you”. I WILL be back even if I have to go out of my way!

My friend and I went for happy hour. He had the southwest nachos appetizer and I had the Philly steak with fries. The food came out quickly and correct. The staff was friendly and attentive. We played a game of pool after we were done eating.
