Absolutely amazing experience! The food was incredibly delicious. Every bite was full of authentic flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and everything tasted fresh and homemade.

The portions were very generous! Definitely great value for the price. We even had leftovers to enjoy the next day!

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for outstanding Italian food with large portions and incredible taste, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Had my first meal here this past Saturday night. I was surprised that such a gem wasn’t completely booked up on a weekend. The food was outstanding reminded me of my Nonna’s kitchen on Sunday mornings. The staff was amazing giavanna was our waitress and her personality, corky jokes and attentiveness made us feel right at home. Just like walking into my Nonna’s house to hang out with all my cousins. It was nice to see that as busy as she was she still made it back to our table multiple times to check on us. We will be back and will recommend this place to all of our friends and family.

What a fabulous experience at Luigi’s. The food was delicious loved the hot peppers with potato and mushroom, codfish with cherry peppers and potatoes. The dessert was unbelievable. I will be bringing many friends and family here. Thank you Joe the owner and Josephine who was our waitress. She was friendly and gave us great service.

So disappointed. Not only did the new owner increase prices by approximately 25 to 35% , the food portions have also been reduced. At least serve the same portions. Additionally, I ordered the chicken parmigiana and discovered that the marinara sauce did not taste the same. It was bland. For many years, Luigi’s marinara sauce was to die for. The marinara sauce was once upon a time so savory , that it could be eaten by itself. Isn’t the marinara sauce everything in Italian dishes. So what happened?
I’m afraid this establishment is no longer “Luigi’s Italian Traditional Restaurant “ nor the hidden gem of Newark in my book.

Stopped in on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised. We are not from the immediate area and used Google for a recommendation and it was great. Linguine Garlic and oil, potatoes, sausage broccoli rabe and of course the spiedini . Samantha waited on us with some recommendations and a smile.

If you’re wanting fresh, authentic Italian cuisine in combination with a wholesome and welcoming atmosphere this is absolutely your spot. Eating at Luigi’s was such a wonderful experience! This family-owned Italian restaurant truly stands out. The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor—you can really tell everything is made with care and love. The chicken parm, calamari, meatballs, and gnocchi are a must try and with generous helpings made for subsequent meals at home that leave you wanting to come back for more. The staff and family behind the restaurant are attentive and unbelievably kind making the entire experience leaving me feeling connected to my Italian heritage through this genuine and memorable experience. We left happy and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great Italian food and an amazing dining experience!

Might have been the best cod fish ever, with nicely done spinach. Atmosphere is very nicely done, like an Italian villa. Calamari appetizer was just okay.

Absolutely Great. We attended a rehearsal dinner hosted by my good friend Gerard and let me tell you the food was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and the staff friendly.

Luigi’s set up a family style dinner and the dishes came one after another. Being a Florida resident I must say that I am so spoiled after experiencing Luigi’s that nothing will come close to the quality and flavors that this restaurant has to offer. If I lived in NJ, I would become a frequent patron.

Please move to West Palm Beach and show us real Italian food. Thumbs up. 10 Stars.

My fiancé has been coming here since he was a child with his parents and always had fond memories of the people and the delicious food. I had never been before. I decided to have my son’s christening party here over this past weekend and it was absolutely phenomenal.

The servers set up everything for us the night before: centerpieces, banner, dessert table, etc. They texted me throughout the process to make sure I was happy with everything.

The church ended earlier than expected and they were able to accommodate my group of 46 coming an hour early than I had originally booked! You would have never even known they were thrown a curveball. And the wonderful service continued throughout the night. The servers are so sweet and personable: you really feel as if you’ve known them for a while.

Luigi the owner was there the entire time making sure everything was running smoothly. He is very personable and sweet!

Our family RAVED about the food. From the great spread of antipasto, tender calamari… to the delicious pastas and entrees, everyone left with a full belly and smile on their faces. We will absolutely be back for dinner soon. Personally, my new favorite place in more ways than one.

Live and learn! I wanted to love this place! I really did… An Italian restaurant in Newark! Given what Covid has done to small businesses I’ve been trying hard to support those in my city. I ordered a chicken parm sandwich, a veal parm dinner and a stuffed mushrooms appetizer. $50! But inflation is EVERYWHERE! In fairness to them, I request light on the cheese for my chicken parm. Nevertheless, the food was less than desirable. Chicken and veal BOTH PAPER THIN. Chicken was dry and over salted. Sauce was bland tasting like canned tomatoes. My mom had the veal. She enjoyed it but her pasta had very little sauce. The mushrooms were inedible, stuffing was mushy but flavor was OK. Reading the reviews again, Im amazed at how ANYONE can call this good food. Maybe its the difference in eat in and delivery. The delivery man on the other hand was a sweetheart!
