They have plain cheese pizzas cooked up & sitting there and when you order they add the toppings you request on top & hand you a $15 slice of crap, see my picture a bunch of raw onions & GMO chicken added lazily on top.
I am from Chicago, I have had good & terrible pizzas & this is 1 of the terrible ones.
I bet they are in business because its only 1 of 2 food establishments in the area open past 7p.m. so quality isn’t a priority.
The pizza dough lacked texture, it was soft & mushy.
The sauce was non-existent, the bread was so spongy that the little spoon of sauce they add was absorbed by the dough.
The cheese tasted store bought shredded, honestly Lunchables pizza has more flavor.
A friend paid $3 for basil to be added, only for them to sprinkle 5 pieces of basil, we literally counted them. We brought this on to the servers attention & she said “well I didn’t charge you for the cheese” (we didnt know cheese was also charged in addition, otherwise you just get a piece of bread drizzled in “sauce”).
Do not visit, please just buy yourself a frozen pizza or anything else would be better.
The menu looked great. Staff were super friendly and timely. The food however was very disappointing. The pizza was untouched by my kids, the pasta tasted like it was cooked in dirty dishwater. The chicken parm was really gross. Very disappointed. Had to pay for a second dinner elsewhere since everyone was so hungry. There goes $100.
I went for the classics: a Coronado beer, lasagna, and pizza. Everything was solid — warm, filling, and just what you’d expect from an old-school Italian-American spot by the beach.
Not fancy, not gourmet. But honest.
The interior? It’s definitely modest. A bit worn-out, like it’s seen decades of locals and tourists come and go — and somehow, that gives it character. They’re not trying to impress you with design. They’re just here to feed you.
If you’re hungry and want something simple with no frills — this is your place.
If you’re chasing Michelin stars — keep walking.
But if you want that no-nonsense, neighborhood-comfort kind of meal — Luigi’s has your back.
Cyborg ate. Cyborg approved.

I suppose a beachside pizza doesn’t need a lot of taste standards being beach side location. But super disappointed and won’t be back for pizza. I don’t suppose they’ll miss me after my review anyway. Area is busy and difficult to find parking. No complaints about atmosphere or employees, seems very standard for beach, college crowds.
