I’m not from Pike county but about 20 minutes away and thought I’d give it a shot. I’ve been following them on Facebook and saw they offer a steak night on Friday and Saturday. I had a group of (8) go up on a Friday night…bad idea. They have renovated from the past years, inside is totally redone and the bathrooms too (nice renovation). There are (3) large tables full and a couple more people at other tables. We found some seats at two hightop tables against the wall. Took awhile to get a drink order and we actually ordered our food too as they seemed to be in a hurry. The larger tables had gradually filtered out and were mainly just sitting there talking. Six of us got ribeye steaks and two others got burgers. It took over an hour to get our food. The waitress and waiter(?) running all over the place and they weren’t even that busy from what I could tell. I got two beers while I was there and that was a struggle to get those two so I didn’t even want to ask for more, especially since no one was around to let know. As for the steak, it was like a piece of shoe leather. Ordered Medium, came out more like Well Done. One person I was with took half of the steak home and doused it in A1 before placing it in the to-go box. Said it was better warmed up a day later in the microwave. There weren’t any rave reviews from others in my group. I gave them a shot and I won’t be back. I’m not sure if they were just catering to the locals or what but it was a bad overall experience. I don’t normally leave bad reviews but this is one of them. I hope they can get their stuff together.
