This is one of those hidden treasures that you are so lucky to find, when you’re traveling.
I was headed to the Valero for a breakfast sandwich , when low and behold, out of the corner of my eyes I see this adorable little building that said “Lucy‘s kitchen” .
I have been in this town off and on for the past 2 months and not once had I seen this structure.
Needless to say I did a youie in the road and went back. What a wonderful decision that was!
You walk into this cute little dining area; tables are adorned with gray tablecloth’s and the usual fixings on a restaurant table. Except I love the added touch of their sweet Caloncho in a pot, it just made it seem more homey.
I was soon greeted by this beautiful, vivacious and charming woman…Miss Lucy
Be prepared to be called sweetheart, honey, or darlin’ at any moment . She is definitely the epitome of southern hospitality
They don’t make them like Miss Lucy anymore!
I definitely know you’re not going to walk away hungry. I will suggest you bring your own salsa because if you are like me, ♀️hers will set your mouth on fire
Their menu isn’t very big but the flavor is huge!They are only open from 6 to 2 every day except Sunday. So get your butt over there and give it a try

Excellent fresh homemade chips, salsa and queso. I had the brisket burrito and it was OMG delicious!! Guys had bacon cheeseburger and fries and they were hand patties and delicious as well. Lucy was in there ru nning the place by herself. Great customer service Lucy!!!

If you are traveling by then stop here for a quick bite. The restaurant is updated and clean; the service is friendly and welcoming; and the food was great. I enjoyed to 2 egg, Lucy special breakfast. I recommend a stop and I will return.

Coffee was definitely good even with late breakfast.
Lucy was entertaining with her interaction with her guest. Add in the Free self serve Fresh Nacho Chips with available hot melted cheese & multiple salsa; just can’t go wrong.
Lucy is example of the slogan.

I went in around 11:30 am to place a to-go order. I asked if I could order 5 asada burritos, but she said no because it would take too long. I then asked if the brisket would take less time, but she said no, that would take too long too. I thanked her and left without any burritos.

Such a great place! Miss Lucy is a gem! We stopped on our way home from Colorado for a quick bite. The burritos were so good and huge portions. Definitely made with love. We had the taco meat and beef fajita supreme burritos and they were fresh and delicious, just the right amount of toppings. The complimentary chips and salsa and queso were tasty as well. I will be full all the way back to Dallas! Little Otto enjoyed his beans too!

Made a stop in Vega to grab a bite and was extremely impressed with Lucy’s. The food was amazing and Miss Lucy’s is an absolute sweetheart. The restaurant was clean and updated and the service makes you feel like you’re home.
