Reviews
Shortly after dining here, I became acutely ill for two days after consuming the escargots. While I cannot state the cause with certainty, the timing raised significant concerns about food safety. Because of this, the experience was not only unpleasant but genuinely worrying.
During the meal, there were already noticeable cleanliness issues. The plates and utensils did not appear properly clean, which added to discomfort and made the overall hygiene standards feel questionable.
The food quality across dishes was consistently disappointing. Several items arrived cold, lacked freshness, and appeared carelessly prepared. Given the prices charged, this represented poor value and did not meet reasonable expectations for a restaurant at this level.
After the visit, I reviewed other customer feedback and noticed that many reviews describe similar concerns, plastic in food, bread stale, duke dry, including food quality, cleanliness, and a rushed dining experience. This suggests these are recurring issues, not an isolated incident.
The meal itself felt hurried, with pressure to vacate the table quickly, which further detracted from what should have been a relaxed dining experience — particularly at premium prices.
Based on this experience and the patterns reflected in other reviews, I would not recommend this restaurant, especially to visitors or anyone expecting a safe, comfortable, and relax dining experience. Also super loud!
My tried and true orders are the roasted chicken, mussels, or escargot. All absolutely phenomenal.
This may sound funny, but if you get anything, order the Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. They were the fluffiest I’ve ever had. I would go back there just for that!
The French onion soup was definitely one of the best I’ve had. My mom had their soup of the day which was carrot ginger and she loved it.
I got the Rockefeller cheese sauce steak. It was delicious.
We also ordered chicken with mash potatoes, a Luc’s burger for the burger lover teen I have and Steak tartar for the raw food lover other teen.
Everything was delicious. The service was great and the environment so good that we decided to go for a small dessert and a nice cup of grand marnier to close the meal.
The atmosphere is phenomenal, perfect lighting, romantic, cozy, authentic historical building, with stone walls, very clean, absolutely a wonderful experience.
The service is always excellent, very kind and thoughtful staff.
We usually make our reservations weeks in advance because it’s a destination, Ridgefield is a wonderful town full of interesting, independently owned boutiques and Luc’s is in my opinion the crown jewel of Ridgefield’s amazing dining scene.
12/2025 we didn’t have a reservation but we went earlier and got a great table, and experienced a Luc’s night out which always means friendly but impeccable service, phenomenal food, a festive environment and after all these years Luc’s is still my favorite. The couple I brought had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return. I got the Tuna Tartare which I often get, it’s out of this world and they have a separate gluten free fryer for their home made potato chips and french fries. I also got another favorite the Steak Frites with the gorgonzola sauce which was phenomenal and cooked to perfection and so delicious. Whenever I go someone always gets the escargot which they are famous for. And the crispy Duck is another favorite.
