From the amazing Mexico City based Grupo Hunan, comes their newest restaurant, Lucrezia and let me tell you, prepare to be blown away! When you walk into Lucrezia, it doesn’t feel like a San Diego restaurant. It’s high ceilings, big restaurant, some inside outside action, and a great bar will impress. In the old space that Larsen’s occupied, Lucrezia is a welcome addition to San Diego’s growing food scene. Lucrezia is easily one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Amazing ambiance, great service and the food is top notch. Italian food is hard for me to enjoy after vacationing in Italy, but this place hits the nail on the head. Very authentic, even our server was from Rome! The pasta was perfect, sauce was fire, and the pizza was incredible. Come hungry!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would, but one is the lowest so… CLIENT BEWARE, my girlfriend called multiple times to make a reservation and got told that the restaurant only takes walk ins. We drove down from Carlsbad only to not be allowed to dine as they were no longer taking guests. It was 5 pm on a Friday night!?! We asked for a callback if a table opened up, the hostess “asked” the manager and claimed no. Don’t open up a restaurant if you are not ready yet. The decor looks really nice, such a shame, with this poor service, I would not be surprised if it closes in the next year or so.

Amazing service. Everyone was super attentive and nice. Food and drinks were good as well. Definitely going back to try more.

I’ll be back to try some pizza but the meatballs were marginal at best… lacking flavor, very dense…. Need to use higher fat meat so they are softer…. still best Italian restaurant anywhere close is Piatti’s — better food and menu and their bread and dipping sauce is to die for …. Lucrezia need to copy that dipping sauce !!! smallest salad you can order is line $18 they need a simple small 8 or 10 dollar house salad…

As Italians we have to say this place is GREAT! Out waitress Nickie treated us amazingly both at the bar counter and then at the table.

The food is good but not spectacular. Great service and ambiance, though.

Had a fantastic time here last week. The food was delicious, but the standout was the inviting atmosphere and impeccable service.

Oooof! This place needs some work! For sure has potential, but a lot of things need to be tweaked. Bring in the business for 30 years, it was obvious this place is not flowing well, at all. Too many people behind the bar. Everyone was swamped. The menu, I think for that size of place, you need more selections. Also, more flavor. Our dishes were subpar and the arugula salad was almost inedible due to being so salty. Desert took well over 30 min which prompted the manager to come to our table and explain. It seemed like he was inconvenienced by us, and we weren’t even making a stink out of it. Get some consultants in there, Stat!

This place had potential with the expensive decor and ambiance but the food was TERRIBLE, the pizza was stale and not a lot of flavor and same with the pasta, I could make a better one at home (they opened a more casual style Italian place in the same UTC mall called “Pastiamo” and their pizzas are amazing quality traditional Italian style comparable to Isola, Buona Forchetta’s or Catania’s, if you know you know) service is mediocre but they took way to long to get everything.
