Friendly staff. Great food, especially the cashew chicken. So busy they’ve actually ran out chicken on one occasion! Run out of an old house, it doesn’t look like much when you first pull onto parking lot and they REALLY need to replace the horrid entry steps…but once inside, the aroma gets your mouth to watering and for good reason. Two different dining areas and takeout is available. They’re closed on Sundays.

The quality of food is by far worth the time it took to get my food. Probably the best chicken in a 50 mile radius. I would advise to call ahead. Food seems super freshly prepared and the wait time is usually 20 – 25 min.super good food, great/amazing staff, I’ll definitely be back

Not much on atmosphere, but great cashew chicken! Went there on a rainy evening; first thing that caught my eye was a bucket in the middle of the floor catching drips from the leaking roof, then the peeling paint on the ceiling, and whoever did the last paint job should not be allowed near a paint brush again…ever. Most of the seats had the upholstery gone exposing the bare foam, and the floor should have been sanded and refinished years ago. But, the waitress was great, the food came with minimal wait, and the cashew chicken was as good as I have had anywhere! Very, very tender, a great flavor – could have used a tiny bit more sauce – but it really hit the spot! The egg roll was ok, (should have asked for some duck sauce), and the crab rangoons were pretty good. Prices were much less than you might pay almost anywhere else. So, if you’re around Fair Grove and have a craving for some cashew chicken, it’s a spot to consider…just might want to consider doing it as a takeout.

We recently went, waited over 30 minutes to get our food which the biggest % was onions. It was dark with no lights on. Waitress was great as she was the only one takings phone orders as well as walk-in orders and those eating in. Not her fault.

It’s now Lucky Time, not Golden Star. Not sure if it has new owners, but I find the food much better. I went in for lunch and it all tasted freshly cooked. The general chicken wasn’t spicy but had a good flavor.

Used to be great, when they answered the phone but I couldn’t get an answer so I drove there since a friend said they were open. I was asked if I had a call in and my response was no one answers the phone so that would be impossible. The reply is well we’re out of chicken. That was the reply I heard them give the last time a person 3 weeks ago when I got an order. If they had an answering machine that would be great but I have a feeling they wont be around much longer if they can’t keep chicken daily. I’m not going back.

First off, it was impossible to get my order, which was General Chicken made without the breading, vegetables instead of rice, with General sauce. Nope – she said no substitutions. The only difference was the steamed chicken instead of fried… & add veggies? I then asked for chicken with broccoli, no veggies, with General sauce (thinking I could outwit her), but no. They couldn’t do that, so fine, I settled with their breaded General Chicken, no rice, add veggies. No again. I told her I’d be glad to pay extra for the veggies, but I didn’t even want the rice on my plate. She finally agreed (for 99 cents extra), but told me the cook wouldn’t put any General sauce on my veggies. Ok?

Food is good.. However customer service is beyond poor!! Called in an order was told it would be ready in about 30mins.. Got there about 40mins later to pay and pick up my order just to wait another hour after paying for my food to find they forgot to put in my order!!!!! I did get a ” im sorry” from the young lady working the register a couple times but no owner or manager would come out to speak with me or to try and even make things right.
