This place has amazing food! The restaurant itself is also very clean, light, open and airy. Sometimes when you go into restaurants, the mood seems dark and doesn’t necessarily feel clean. This place beats all of that and the best thing is the food is fantastic! I would compare it to how my family has cooked growing up and brings memories of eating and hanging out with my grandma, mom, aunties, and cousins. The service is great. The iced coffee is fantastic. You should definitely try this place if you were wanting authentic, delicious Thai food!

I ordered veggie green curry, my favorite. I’ve ordered this at many places, in many cities & never have I had it this salty. I ask for something I could add to thin the salt (like coconut milk) & nope that’s how our curry is made. Beware anyone with high blood pressure don’t order the green curry! Hubby’s drunken noodles were perfect. I’m going take this home & try adding coconut milk & a potato to attempt to save it at $14.95 I’m not wasting it. I would have given more stars if they even attempted to help me.

Visit #12 – delicious food and friendly staff. Love this place.

Sooo good. Such nice people. I have now been here twice in 2 days and and can see why it’s called Lucky Thai. Because I feel lucky to have found it. The 1st day they were very busy but I could tell they make their food to order so even though it took a little longer I was excited to have fresh well prepared food. It did not disappoint when it arrived. Well worth the wait. I had the fried dumplings which were very well made very flavourful and had a simple and very tasty dipping sauce. I also had the chicken red curry, the fried sausage, and the chicken drunken noodles. It was awesome. Both the staff and kitchen who delivered food were very kind and you could tell that customer service and the quality of their food is important to them. All across-the-board excellent in every way. In only 2 visits I can tell you I’m already a regular.

Lucky Thai is one of my favorite Lao/Thai restos in Murfreesboro. There are almost 10,000 Lao residents in Murfreesboro, so you can understand why the Lao/Thai offerings are exceptional. I’ve lived and worked in Laos and Thailand as an adult and do a lot of my own cooking, so my baseline in Lao/Thai food is solid. And I grew up in the South, so I know what from a fry game!

This is a family-run restaurant; it’s not a white linen tablecloth sit down and linger place. LT’s take out game is very strong. You’ll see quite a bit of traffic for take out. Come to LT when you are hungry, want ease, exceptionally fresh, fastidiously prepared Lao/Thai food that is not shy about flavor or heat.

Lucky Thai’s fry game is maybe the best in Murfreesboro, if not Middle TN.

Note for Vegans: For vegans, Kim, the owner of LT, is very, very serious about vegan offerings b/c she has a serious vegan in her family. There are so many vegan offerings at LT. If you can’t locate it on the menu, talk to the staff.

My family consistently orders these fried items:
(1) Salt and pepper shrimp and squid
(2) Fried mushrooms
(3) French fries
(4) Fried chicken wings — you can order these plain, spiced up, and with ginger basil that comes with jalapenos and crispy fried basil on top. This one is one of our favorite dishes and we never eat at LT without ordering this.

For the Lao/Thai offerings that are truly exceptional:
(1) Lao sausage – these are made in house and are as good as I have had outside of Laos and Thailand. Have these with some sticky rice.
(2) Larb – our favorite is duck larb; the tofu larb is also exceptional and you’ll be hard pressed to recognize the tofu so for all you tofu haters, try this. If you want it vegan, be sure and mention that so you can get some of LT’s exceptional vegan fish sauce.
(3) Green curry – the sharpness is on point and you’ll find green eggplant (an Asian staple of this dish) in this green curry — you won’t find that often at other places. Eat this with your jasmine rice. Green curry can be sharp, so if you’re sensitive to heat, let them know. BTW, just because this dish can be pretty spicy doesn’t mean that’s the choice for most Lao/Thai eaters. It’s a personal preference; no shame in selecting heat levels.
(4) Salt and Pepper Shrimp + Squid or Tofu – This dish is delightful and a signature dish, lots of shrimp and lots of tofu, fried to a crispy finish and then wok-tossed with onions and jalapenos (maybe bell pepper if the jalapenos are unfriendly for you).
(5) Ginger basil wings – Another of LT’s signature dishes; exceptional and amazingly consistent. LT marinates these wings, which makes them tender, juicy and delicious. Every. Time. Typically, they come to our table hot out of the fryer covered in freshly sliced wok fried ginger and jalapenos and topped with crispy fried basil leaves — my mouth is watering writing this.
(6) Fried rice – order any of these fried rice dishes, as you like, and at your heat level. I typically reserve half to take home b/c it’s just as delicious reheated at home.

Beverages:
(1) Thai iced tea – don’t miss this; my family thinks this may be the best in town.
(2) Lao Beer – the national beer of Laos; delicious and light and pairs well with Lao/Thai food; I prefer regular over Gold, but try them both.

Went to lucky thai with a large group (8) on a Saturday evening. We were seated quickly and served our drinks. First off, the pad Thai (with chicken, spice level 4) was phenomenal, one of the best in town. Everything else though was honestly mediocre. The red curry (with chicken, spice level 4) was way too sweet, with barely any chicken. The portion was small compared to other places in town too. Also personal preference but it had a lot of Thai eggplant which I don’t love. The spice level was very inconsistent, a friend got a 3 in his Thai veggies that tasted like a 5 and he couldn’t finish, and my curry at a 4 was barely spicy. Service was slow and everyone’s dish came out at very different times. This place could make some improvements but I do recommend the pad Thai!

AMAZING. I’m from Washington state and stopped by while in town visiting family. The food blew me away, everything I ordered was superb and I did not order a single dish that I didn’t like. I felt like I was eating Thai food in Seattle. This restaurant has mastered fried food to make it light and crispy without being too greasy. They also really know how to balance flavors. All menu items are highly customizable and there are plenty of filling and unique vegan options. They also have a QR code you can scan to pull up their website and see pictures of the dishes. Each dish on the website also lists modification options and prices of add-ons so it can be helpful to look at before you order (I personally thought it was more helpful than the printed menu). The staff were also extremely welcoming and helpful when answering questions. Service was provided with a smile, I didn’t get the feeling like I was inconveniencing the staff. I even got complimented by the waitress for knowing my way around a Thai menu 😀

I would highly recommend ordering:
– Vegan pho (the broth was light but flavorful, not watered down; make sure to order with tofu AND veggies since the tofu-only option does not come with carrots, broccoli, and mushroom). And anyone who is vegan knows how hard it is to get veggie pho that also does not use bone broth so take advantage of this option.

– Drunken noodles (noodles were soft, fresh, and bouncy; brown sauce was savory and super spicy, they use both thai chili oil AND fresh jalapeños for both the noodles and pho so be mindful of spice levels when ordering!)

– Fried oyster mushrooms (reminded me of my ones my mom makes!)

– Salt and pepper tofu (strong flavor without tasting overly salty, LOVED the charred onion and bell peppers in the dish, fabulous crunch, sauce went well with the dish too and jasmine rice on the side was a bonus!)

– Mango sticky rice (THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, pandan-infused rice paired really well with the other flavors and sticky rice had great chewy texture; mango was so fresh, soft, and juicy despite being out of season; toasted coconut on top added crunch and depth to flavor profile)

– Thai tea (not overly sweet; could tell the tea was brewed (as it should be) and not from a mix; many milk options from almond, coconut, and regular/dairy milk)

I will definitely come back here again before I leave town and I have saved this restaurant to my favorites to revisit in the future. I hope to one day try everything on this menu. Thank you for the satisfying meal and hospitality.

Second time coming here and it was better than the first. We had the sausages fried chicken papaya salad gowlow duck salad and drunken noodles. They were all pretty good. But do not get the Ladna here because it’s not done correctly. It was very watery the last time I got it.

Absolutely delicious! Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Great vegetarian selection and if you like it spicy this is the place for you! Just order a spice level 5 + chili oil and I guarantee you’ll feel the burn.
A lot of places lack when it comes to the heat but the chili oil here is next level.

Great pad Thai, great everything.

My family and I love the staff, service and the delicious food. My daughter and I tried something new today. We had the chicken satay before and thought to try the Tofu Satay. We were not disappointed. It had a light honey curry brushed on it and a nice dipping sauce on the side.
