Reviews
We would go back for the food.
Excellent service.
Y’all need to hitch up the wagon and head down to The Lucky Pint! My wife and I have been there twice, and both times the food was absolutely top-notch, and the service was impressive! Last time, I played it safe with the fish and chips and was happy with my choice. Today, I opted for the shepherd’s pie. Our wonderful waitress, Sarah, advised me that they offered a half portion, which was just enough to satisfy my hunger. They use real lamb (not ground beef, which would technically make it ‘cottage pie’) along with sauced vegetables under a layer of creamy mashed potatoes. You won’t find better shepherd’s pie in any restaurant within 500 miles. My wife had the chicken and chips and raved about the batter and the chips. The last time we were there, she had the Irish Hot Brown and loved it as well!
This place is a winner! If I had to find a fault, it would be that the music didn’t quite fit the setting and was competing with music coming from the pub next door. However, it was barely an issue and certainly wouldn’t deter us from coming back again. I can’t wait!
We stopped in for some late night drinks on the way home and it was everything we wanted. The bartender guy was super friendly and welcoming, he recommended many drinks and told us he looked forward to making them. The environment is good, typical Irish bar but not too crazy and they do have a happy hour. Not much lighting in there but it was late and they had the fans on so high that when we put money on the bar it all blew away, seemed a bit excessive.
We look forward to coming back and trying their food.
First, the likes.
I like the menu items, of which there appeared to be quite a selection. Solid food choices. I will drop a photo of the menu.
I had the old Irish Favorite of Hot-Wings with a side of ranch. I don’t know if Hot-Wings is an “Irish Favorite” or not, but they were on the menu. As Hot-Wings are always a bar favorite I figured it was a good place to start. Eight wings made perfect and delicious 12$.
The place had a relaxed feel to it and was particularly clean, including the restroom which appeared to be well stocked. There were a few things “Irish” about the place, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
Atmosphere was nice and appeared to be Religious/Political/Woke non-observant, which is very much appreciated in today’s climate. This is a perfect place to relax and have a cold beer or fine shot of spirits, to which the Bartender did courteously try to up-sell me on.
I would like to add a personal comment: I very much hope and pray this establishment makes it for the simple reason that the area needs more variety and choice.
Now, the things I didn’t like.
I didn’t like walking through a dining room to enter a Bar-area. I understand the purpose of this, but I personally don’t care for it. I don’t feel it is a separation of dining area and drinking area if the drinkers have to walk through amongst the diners.
The place was also a bit dark. I was in the place around lunch and it was a beautiful day outside. Had there been clouds I don’t doubt I would have needed a flashlight.
Their beer selection was small and exclusive to a few specialty blends of and imports, of which I had the Dos Equis. I did see the truck pull up which was expected to be bringing a much wider selection, so I won’t fault them on this as they have just opened, and they were preparing their coolers for the delivery.
The happy hour is from 5-8. I personally would like to see this extended. Also, there are no discounts (military, first responders, senior, etc.). 5.25$ a drink for beer, so this isn’t a place for day drinkers. Food items are priced on the menu that I will drop. Their televisions weren’t playing sports nor specials to fit the mood of the place either, even a decent movie would have been nice. I am deaf so noise or music is not an issue for me, but it did appear nearby couples were having to do a lot of yelling.
At this time I’m going to offer a three and a half (3.5) star review with an anticipation of visiting again within the next couple months to check the progress.
The place has got a good vibe, good bartenders, and Coke products
Food – I ordered the cottage pie. It is good for what they make as cottage pie.
Is it a cottage pie from a Irish restaurant. Not from my local one’s.
It is still good. Thanks.
