Most airport food is absolutely overpriced and awful. Delightfully, this was not.
The clam chowder was thick but not artificially so. Creamy, very full of CLAMS. Not just potatoes and celery, but CLAMS. LOTS. Fabulous taste.
I also got the coconut shrimp boat. It came wrapped in paper and a rubber band. Classic presentation. When I opened up the wrapper, there were four HUGE shrimp, butterflied and pounded flat, and the breading was delightfully sweet (but not too much) and crunchy, coconutty… mmm. The shrimp were sauced with Thai sweet chili sauce and served over rice, with more on the side. Rice was jasmine, and perfectly sticky.
Did I mention the pickles? Fresh, with sweet vinegar and black sesame seeds and red chili, maybe a vinaigrette? Delicious.
This restaurant left me stuffed, and very pleased with the quality. For 28 buckes in an airport? Knocked it out of the park.
Please, open one in Cincinnati! But not at the airport! I would give anything for taste and value like this in the Midwest.
Staff was friendly and courteous.
Highly recommended. It’s in an airport so some of the review questions don’t apply. But if you’re in Sea-Tac at the airport and looking for good food, this is it.
Now back to the topic at hand. The sammich was great, portions was a 10, nice and eggy (w/ real eggs not that pre-made BS) small dent on stars because the bun had a couple small hard sections within it, probably from being over steamed or microwaved. Not sure, but overall the bun had an excellent flavor, but a little oily or buttery, couldn’t tell. The Tillamook entered center stage and didn’t need to demand any respect, it was happily surrendered. The triangled hash brown was standard fare, nothing to write home about but much appreciated nonetheless, it was equally devoured, a crunchy delight. Definitely would come back with the quickness if I was in Seattle again. Give it a try
the fries (with and without sauce), along with the sauce itself leave a little to be desired. and the fountain drink tastes like metal (more than at other places).
also, the guy who checked me out was so cool. shoutout that dude
Clam chowder has delicious flavor and fish and chips taste fresh and lightly battered and fried but not greasy! Prices higher since it’s located inside the airport but also typical for West Coast but well worth visiting and certainly MUCH better quality than most airport food
I had the 3-piece Alaska pollock fish and chips, and Lucky Louie’s far exceeded my expectations. Crunchy breading, well-fried fries, and a tangy tartar sauce made this one of the best airport meals I’ve ever had. Loved the location, too — the wide-open seating area in the main terminal was nice and bright and airy, and there was even a musician playing live.
GET LUCKY AND CHOOSE LUCKY LOUIE’s .
The fish I ordered was the Pollock and it is everything you could ever want in battered fried fish: dangerously hot; crispy outer; flaky and moist interior.
A frequent traveler, with a gypsy streak, I have to say that SeaTac is one of my FAVORITE airports in the U.S. in large part due to the quality of the food options and upscale shopping available. Most airports offer low quality shops and restaurants at wallet gouging-level high prices. Yes it IS pricey—but here the exceptional quality more closely matches its price point. Highly recommended for seafood lovers wanting to experience fish n chips the way it used to be 20+ years ago!
