I gave this place a 3/5 stars because of how poorly ventilated the dining area was. It felt like sitting in a hot summer building with no cool central air running, and how poor the service was. We didn’t see our server for more than 10 minutes after we placed in our drink order, and we never got a check in from the server when we finally received our food. The server wasn’t prompt, courteous, or attentive. I would be hesitant to come back and dine here again because of that experience. I would rather go somewhere else than go here again.
Now, the food. The drunken noodles hit the mark and the perfect fortifying dish for any night on the town. The pho was also a standout: fragrant star‑anise broth, beautifully textured noodles, and tender cuts of beef—authentic enough to get you saying, “this is real pho”
But the MVP of the meal? The dumplings. These house‑made gems boast thick, chewy skins with a flavorful pork filling, served with standout gingery and side sauces that elevate each bite.
Service and atmosphere add to its charm—friendly staff, bar‑vibes without pretension, and a casual, upbeat tone throughout . If you want something authentic that doesn’t feel pretentious, this is your go‑to. Just know that for to‑go orders, some reviewers mention inconsistent portion sizes—best to dine in for full value .
The drunken noodles were missing something, texture, flavor, I don’t know.
Waitresses were very quiet and didn’t stop by except to refill water and walk away. They were nice though!
The service has always been great. The people are true Milwaukee locals that know the area and are almost like family. The only way you’re having a bad time is if you brought it with you.
Whether you’re there for drinks and shots while watching the game, a family event, or just to hang out and enjoy great food, Lucky Ginger is thee spot. 5 stars cause I can’t give 6
– Beef on a stick (tender jerky feel – good flavor)
– Pork Belly (also on a stick) – there’s a good mixture of meat and fat which was crispy!
– Dumplings ; they said it would take 25 but came out pretty quick.
– Basil Fried Rice
The items we got were pretty good although I feel it could be missing something. We’ll certainly be back again to try their other dishes! Overall food was good and experience was great!
