You’re also in the environs of Union Market, which is fun.
I visited this Lucky Buns a couple times a few years ago. First time, I got one of the best burgers of my life. Second time, it was pretty decent. Third time? I didn’t even finish, it was that bad. Fourth time? Same as before, if not worse. Just gross. So, I stopped coming.
Fast forward a few years and, today, I stop-in. The manager is there. I’m on my way to get food somewhere else and… something tells me to stop and chat with the manager. We discuss my experiences. He’s really cool. He’s sympathetic and notes there were, indeed, rampant quality control issues at the exact time I mentioned. He promises me they’re fixed. I look at my wife. She shrugs “why not?” Ok. One more time.
So glad I took another chance on this Lucky Buns. They’re pumping out solid burgers once more. Well done, Lucky Buns. Glad you guys are back. Union Market needs a greasy burger joint.
The mumbo sauce had a good taste. The chicken thighs are small and the burgers were overcooked and small.
Feels like an upscale McDonalds. I visited can’t say that I’ll go back…. especially not for that price.
The burgers are not cooked to order- at least not mine. I watched as a lady put a pre-cooked patty (2 of them) on the flat top along with some cooked bacon. I suspect it was pre cooked to medium rare and she brought my burgers to medium well. At least that was the plan.
The burger was medium at best and it was dry (pre-cooked, remember?)
The other thing was this was SO salty. I watched her salt and pepper the meat. Maybe this was the SECOND time this was done because I definitely tasted way more salt then I watched her put on. Wow.
The lady who took my order had to be distracted from her text messages to take my order also. But that’s just me. I was only able to eat because I was hungry. Way too salty.
Also burger and fries came to about $30, a bit overpriced imo but that is the case on everything in union market
