Me and my friends (Lucky Boy Mafia) would visit Lucky Boy after middle school to hang out and eat in the early 2000’s. The food is still nostalgic and my go to is the Combo A chicken with eggroll + fries. The owners are delightful and haven’t changed or aged in 20 years. Their prices have always been affordable. I wish there were more places like this in our neighborhood! I also made an illustration/ painting and stickers of the building and they sell the stickers there at the Lucky Boy if you’re interested.

This place is a wonderful throwback, from the decor to the prices especially. You really feel like you’re going to someone’s home for food and the owners (who have kept this place open for going on 50 years next year!) are very kind.
The food is good and has that homemade feel. The combination A with the pork, fried rice and the egg rolls!! is great. I got a tasty iced tea and the whole thing was about $7. Insanely good (and very filling )
The hours are limited to lunchtime during the week, so if you have a free lunch out or a day off, stop by and support them.

I’m amazed Lucky Boy still thrives—unchanged decor, $3.25 hamburgers, and friendly owners make you feel like family. I loved the quick, fresh food, especially the sweet and sour chicken combo, though the chicken was a bit freezer-burned. It’s a timeless, budget-friendly spot with great vibes!

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time yesterday. He ordered the sweet and sour chicken combo plate. I was not hungry when I first arrived, but ended up eating some of his meal. Both of us agreed that it was the best sweet and sour chicken we had ever tasted. The sauce was perfectly sweetened. Not overly sweet as you tend to get most places. The chicken pieces were huge, hot, and freshly fried. The owners were as nice as they could be. Very friendly and welcoming. The prices were really great too. We will be back.

Respectfully, the food we had here just was not very good. The owners were exceptionally friendly and welcoming though! And it sounds like they have been in business for quite a long time. The customers that were in there (it seemed to be an older crowd) were chatting with the owners with familiarity. We were not aware of the history of the establishment but, we have driven by a few times while in the area and became intrigued by the restaurant’s concept as well as charmingly unmaintained exterior. Overall, it was worth a try and the prices are low (the owner kind of just told us the new prices as the menus have not been updated apparently). We paid a little over $20 (cash only) for a burger, fried rice, and 2 shakes. The shakes were an odd icy consistency and certainly not like any shakes that I have ever personally had. The strawberry did not contain any fruit but instead had a pink flavoring mixed in. The burger was alright but the rice was sadly quite bland (food did come out hot and fresh though). We probably would not come back but again, the owners seem like truly good people and I can’t help but hope they continue to stay in business for their loyal customers that seem to frequent the restaurant.

This restaurant is a classic. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid when I went to Jefferson middle school and it’s still here today 30 years later they’re always super friendly. The food is good and super affordable. Highly recommend this
burger/Chinese joint.

delicious, inexpensive, quick, but CASH ONLY! they were kind enough to start my order while I ran to the Smith’s ATM. for the price you might be expecting a smaller sized burger… it is the real deal!!! I also got some dumplings that were totally yummy. will definitely be back

Absolute hole in the wall, but don’t judge the food from the place. Very reasonably priced burgers and dogs and a choice for interesting sauce should you want it on your burger. Green chili and cheese is available for an additional cost. Sodas come in a can, and there are no public restrooms.

I lived in Asia over 20 years and it probably the worst beef lo mien I ever had. Price is about twice listed on the menu for some reason. This is actually a very local, Chinese casual restaurant that also serves burgers. Beef lo mien and iced tea $11. Cracked windows and falling down blinds, but clean seats and tables. Quite warm when I walked in but they turned on AC. Owner n cook are Chinese. Self service. How they got a 4.6 rating is beyond me.
