I got the cornmeal fried catfish, grits, green beans, and slaw. Is was phenomenal. The batter was super well seasoned and the fish was flakey and soft, a perfect and difficult texture to get with catfish.
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. I have absolutely zero complaints.
The grilled chicken was honestly one of the highlights. Perfectly cooked — not overdone, not tough — just incredibly moist and flavorful. The goat cheese paired with it was next-level. Creamy, rich, and balanced the dish perfectly without overpowering it.
The catfish was completely out of this world. Moist and flaky on the inside with that perfect crispy crust on the outside — exactly how Southern catfish should be done. You can tell they know what they’re doing in the kitchen.
The decor is beautiful — upscale Southern, almost fancy (yeah, fancy lol), but still comfortable. It feels like a place you can go for brunch, date night, or celebrating wins — which fits your vibe of mixing elevated experiences with comfort.
The staff was amazing. Super attentive — honestly checked on me more than most restaurants do, but in a good way. Felt taken care of without being hovered over.
The brunch menu is stacked. Definitely worth planning a visit around if you’re in the area. I’d 100% recommend putting this on your must-visit list next time you’re in Greensboro
I am really not as disappointed in my meal as I am the server. Never asking if she could get me another cut or offering something else. My son decided to get the meatloaf which was the other choice I had considered and it was great! I kept hoping they would offer to get me that as a replacement. I know I am going to be disappointed in meals from time to time but my big thing is the restaurant/server taking care of their customers and making sure they are happy. Obviously they failed today! This review is mostly about the consideration of the server and paying attention to their customers.
On the positive side, we really do like Lucky 32 and Green Valley Grill and Printworks. They are a great group of restaurants and like I said earlier we eat at the three quite often. They are always on time with your reservation and the wait staff is usually very good. Don’t let my review keep you from giving them your business. They typically do a great job:)
FYI, the picture is the amount of meat that was left on my plate at the end of my meal. I didn’t slice it, it came that way. I kept trying a few different pieces hoping the next would be better but it wasn’t.
The sides were just as fantastic. The fresh string beans were crisp and vibrant, a perfect counterpoint to the richness of the main course. And the cheesy grits? They were creamy, savory, and the ideal comfort food. Each element of the plate worked in harmony, creating a truly unforgettable meal.
My server was new and still learning the ropes, which is totally understandable. While she was very sweet, there was one moment of a minor misstep. I feel it’s worth a mention for future training purposes: she reached over my plate to clear an empty dish from the person next to me. A simple fix for this would be to walk around the table to retrieve the dish instead. But honestly, the food was so stellar that this small hiccup was easily overlooked.
Overall, I highly recommend Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen, especially for this specific dish. It’s Southern comfort food elevated to a new level, and I can’t wait to go back and have it again.
We were traveling through the area and decided to stop in at Lucky 32 for the first time. From the moment we walked in, we loved the atmosphere—warm, welcoming, and cozy. Our waitress was incredibly nice and very attentive throughout our meal.
We ordered the pan-fried chicken and WOW—absolutely phenomenal! I chose collard greens and mashed potatoes as my sides, and everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious.
Hands down, one of the best meals we’ve had on the road. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!
