Back in Flushing and had to pay my respects at Lucia Pizza —a real Queens legend holding it down since 1962. This is the kind of place that raised generations on proper New York slices. Thin crust, crisp edges, sweet tangy sauce, cheese bubbling like it’s got something to prove.
I used to live out here and this spot was mandatory. No trends, no gimmicks, just a regular slice that still hits like a heavyweight champ. Some things don’t need upgrading—just another napkin. Queens classics only.

I’ve had Lucia pizza twice while visiting Flushing, once through delivery and the other time in person; delivery is definitely not the ideal way to have the pizza from here due to the very long wait time, so I’m choosing to review my in person visit, on my last night in NY no less.

Much of what’s been said about this place is true, great and generally affordable pizza being sold in tiny store. The service is efficient, you can tell the staff there has been with the place for a long time. I ordered 1 regular slice and 2 pepperoni slices which took ~5 minutes to receive.

Of the 3 slices I ordered, I’d say the regular cheese slice is the way to go if you’re new to NY style pizza. The cheese is hot and nicely melted, the sauce isn’t overpowering, and the bread/crust has a nice crisp to it. Expect a fair amount of grease and to fold your slice because how big they are. While I haven’t tried NY’s other famous pizza spots, I’m very happy with Lucia being my main impression of this dish here

Tiny little intimate pizza spot near Main St in Flushing. First time my sons had been to NY and of course they wanted to try a slice of the famous NY pizza. This place didm’t disappoint at all. The cheese, the sauce, the crispy crust, the pepperoni were all on point. Service was fast and mad affordable. Pizza was a hit with my boys and I already knew it was going to be great. Hit them up if in the neighborhood, well worth it.

Lucia Pizza in Flushing is absolutely amazing! The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The pizza was fresh, perfectly baked, and full of flavor — truly some of the best I’ve had. The crust was crisp yet chewy, the sauce was rich and balanced, and the cheese melted beautifully. On top of that, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was great, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re in Flushing, this is a must-visit spot for delicious pizza.

Stopped in for a quick slice and a soda. Ordered a cheese and diet coke($5 all together). The pizza was perfectly cooked, very cheesey with a nice solid crust. It satisfied my NY pizza craving!

Would recommend! 9/10

Just started working in the area decided to get a slice at lunch. Tasted good but the sauce was a bit too saucy I lifted the slice up and instantly cheese and sauce started sliding off. Not sure if it needed more cooking time but was a bit disappointed in the structural integrity of the slice. Don’t get me wrong it tasted good but I had to use both my hands and may even recommend a fork when eating this pizza. Again not sure if it needed more cooking time because I see the other slices on these reviews and they look like they have better structural integrity. Just wasn’t prepared for a sloppy yet tasty slice of pizza for lunch.

Best pizza in Flushing by far! The pizza is fresh, hot, cheesy, and greasy, everything you’d hope for in a New York slice. Seating is very limited in this little hole in the wall, but service is quick and the food is quality. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend!

Don’t look down on something just because it’s cheap. Every time I used the subway, the store was always crowded with people. I heard from someone I already knew that this place was delicious, but there was always a long waiting line to get into the store, so I gave up. It was a rainy day. Maybe it was because of the weather, but there were few people. I was finally able to get my hands on this pizza. Many people ordered slice pizza, but I ordered a large whole pizza and brought it home. They bake it and serve it right in the open kitchen where you can watch it being made. I ordered a large pizza and waited about 20 minutes. Plain pizza is the standard here, and there is an additional charge for each topping added. I think it was about $24 with the pepperoni added. Red pepper powder, cheese, special sauce, and even disposable plates are provided. Even though it was busy, the friendly staff responded and my mood improved. The pizza was savory and delicious. It felt a little salty for my taste, but my son said it was delicious. All American food is too salty for my taste. Haha

One of the best local pizza joints in the area. The slices are classic NYC thin crust style with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The key may be that it’s super busy so fresh pies are coming out of the oven all the time ! A hidden gem that I always get are the garlic knots. Even though it’s usually standing room only the service is friendly.
