Lucia Italian Restaurant is located on Thames Street just across from Brick Market Place at the summit of a half-flight of stairs. Come and enjoy our authentic Northern Italian Cuisine, intimate atmosphere and friendly service.
We came from Italy, Vicenza ( a pretty city 30 miles west from Venice ). Established since 1993 our restaurant serves authentic Northern Italian Food, unique flavors, fresh ingredients and creative recipes prepared by our Italian Chefs.
A longtime eatery offering Northern Italian dishes (including vegetarian items) in a homey ambiance.

The menu linked in Google Maps is helpful. It may be a little more current than the restaurant website. You can sort by lunch/dinner/vegetarian/gluten-free. Some dishes have pictures. This is Italian food (not Italo-American) at its simple best. I came late on a Tuesday night and was greeted warmly. There seemed to be a mix of tourists and locals (one business group of seven.) The restroom was scrupulously clean, always a sign that the owner cares about details. My server, Hassan, was very knowledgeable about the wine and the foods. He helped me choose both. The decor seems to be from the 1990’s. It’s functional but does not add to the experience. The front door is not wheelchair accessible, and I was seated on a raised section. The alcohol license is beer and wine only, with a broad selection of Italian wines by the glass or by the bottle. Communication was just a little difficult for my server and for me. It did not seem loud in the room, with only half the tables occupied, but we misunderstood each other a couple of times. I started with the Fagioli all’Uccelletto, which did not photograph well but was very flavorful. A drizzle of some top-quality olive oil would have elevated this dish. After my pasta dish and (sorbetto) dessert, I left very satisfied. Bread was provided at no charge. I don’t understand people who have criticized the portion size. It was plenty by any standard, European or American. I can’t wait to return here for more real Italian food!

We ordered a few trays of food for my sister’s engagement party this weekend and could not have been happier with our experience. Lucia and Gabriella were a delight to work with. They were very accommodating with some dairy free options for our guests with dietary restrictions. And the food was so good! I loved the pasta marinara and can’t wait to visit their restaurant in person to try more!

This review is long overdue! We discovered this restaurant last month while visiting town for Christmas, and it quickly became a highlight of our trip. The atmosphere was charming, and the service was fast, attentive, and professional.
We both ordered the ravioli bolognese, which was absolutely delicious, and the wine list was extensive with plenty of great options. The staff truly made the experience exceptional.
Unbeknownst to me, my boyfriend proposed during our visit, and the staff went above and beyond to help make the moment unforgettable. They captured photos and video, and the owner even brought over champagne to celebrate.
An incredible experience from start to finish. We can’t wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic Italian restaurant. You can tell the food is made with love! It seemed like the whole family worked in the restaurant, which is a nice twist from some of the other Italian restaurants in the area owned by larger firms.
They also have a wide range of food options fit for vegetarians or other diet restricted individuals. Will absolutely be back
P.S, amazing wine selection

We had a fabulous meal at Lucia’s! The carbonara and beef Bolognese were both absolutely delicious – rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We started by splitting a salad that was perfectly dressed and so fresh. The garlic broccoli was another standout. It was beautifully seasoned and a great complement to our meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back!

I went in for lunch at a Saturday, no wait or reservations needed. I got the sausage pizza that was good and the Manacotti. The food was good but needed some wait about 20 to 30 minutes.

Food and service were excellent, only complaint is that they charge $5 for a fountain soda, and then there’s no refill, and no where is it mentioned refills aren’t free, nor we were informed they were not.
We were charged $20 for four sodas that were probably less than 8oz each as the glasses are small, and filled to the brim with ice. It’s literally the cheapest thing you can sell, why charge a premium price and then offer no free refill?
Other than that, the food was very good, portion size good, and service and atmosphere were very good also. Just be aware of the beverage charges when ordering.

I thought the reviews for this place were a bit shocking. Me and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It was quiet and our waitress was very kind and polite. The food was great as well. The vibe was pretty good too, it really felt like we were in italy. The music, the low dim lights, the menu, etc.
I give this place a pretty good view as a tourist.
